It’s September, which means it’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

A month where we bring awareness to something that’s incredibly hard for people to talk about.

Because the truth is, most people don’t want to talk about the ugly reality that children get cancer.

But they do.

Children get cancer. Babies get cancer. Families’ lives are turned upside down overnight.

And these kids deserve so much more than just a month of awareness. They deserve more than 4% of federal cancer research funding. They deserve better treatments, better options, more research, and ultimately, a cure.

Atlas was just 15 months old when childhood cancer became our reality. Looking back at these videos is a reminder of just how much this disease can take from a child.

So this month, please don’t look away because it’s uncomfortable.

Talk about it. Share it. Learn about it. Advocate for these kids.

Because childhood cancer doesn’t only exist in September.
