It’s September, which means it’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.

A month where we bring awareness to something that’s incredibly hard for people to talk about.

Because the truth is, most people don’t want to talk about the ugly reality that children get cancer.

But they do.

Children get cancer. Babies get cancer. Families’ lives are turned upside down overnight.

And these kids deserve so much more than just a month of awareness. They deserve more than 4% of federal cancer research funding. They deserve better treatments, better options, more research, and ultimately, a cure.

Atlas was just 15 months old when childhood cancer became our reality. Looking back at these videos is a reminder of just how much this disease can take from a child.

So this month, please don’t look away because it’s uncomfortable.

Talk about it. Share it. Learn about it. Advocate for these kids.

Because childhood cancer doesn’t only exist in September.

And neither should our fight for them. 💛

Scan results are in...
Our little firecracker is STABLE 🥲❤️
Post treatment is truly a roller coaster. For the past 9 months our scan results have given us some big scares. Ultimately, every time we get a scan, the results get sent to whichever radiologist is on for that day and we get different results every time based on how the radiologist that day reads the scan 🙃
On top of his score being different for his MIBG scan this last time, his urine test that we do to check a specific marker went up and that's what sent us ALL into a panic so we did extra testing to see what's really going on and THANK GOD, all scans came back stable.
It's hard living with the fact that there are lesions that are in his body still but these most recent scans we did confirmed that they ARE benign. His urine test could have possibly detected more of the marker because sometimes the lesions that are there secrete some of the marker but it could also be affected by diet and other things.
Our boy is a super hero, he's truly so strong and a force to be reckoned with🤍

What used to feel overwhelming became familiar. The hallways, the elevators, the clinic rooms, the faces. Places no child should know so well became part of his everyday life.

Watching him confidently lead the way is a reminder of just how much he’s been through and how far he’s come. 💛

IIt’s my hot husband’s birthday 🚨

But really, 38 has never looked so good, honey. I’m truly so proud of you and the dedication you’ve shown, not only to your growing business and your health and the gym, but also to our family. You give so much to us every day, even on your hardest days and I am so grateful for you.

This is the fifth birthday I’ve celebrated with you, and I think it’s safe to say that you are aging like a fine wine in so many ways. I love watching you become this version of yourself and I love you so much❤️
