Here’s the guide I wish I had going to the Paris Flea market! The Puces de Saint-Ouen is a permanent flea market in northern Paris, open every weekend. It’s the largest in the world- at about 17 acres! You could spend multiple days there which can be intimidating. So if it’s your first time and you’re a design junkie, I’d recommend checking out @paulbertserpette first. It’s curated, high-end and it just feels special!

There’s a moment at the start of every day when the truck is open, the equipment is ready and the first piece is about to come aboard.

Here, two of the white glove team are loading wrapped furniture for an interior design project, carefully bringing each piece into the truck before heading out for the day.

Projects like these are all about the details. From collection and transport through to placement in the finished space, experienced handling helps ensure the designer’s vision comes together exactly as planned.

Another project underway, and another day on the road.

Il y a ce moment, au début de chaque journée, où le camion est ouvert, le matériel est prêt et où la première pièce est sur le point d’être chargée.

Ici, deux membres de notre équipe de livraison haut de gamme chargent du mobilier soigneusement emballé pour un projet d’aménagement intérieur, en prenant soin de disposer chaque pièce dans le camion avant de prendre la route pour la journée.

Sur ce type de projet, tout se joue dans les détails. De l’enlèvement et du transport jusqu’à la mise en place dans l’espace final, l’expérience de nos équipes contribue à donner vie à la vision du designer, exactement comme elle a été imaginée.

There’s something special about the antiques fairs in France during the summer — part marketplace, part meeting place, and always full of life.

Organized by @cipolatsa, the fairs bring together dealers, collectors, designers and buyers from around the world, all searching for that unexpected find. From early morning arrivals to busy aisles filled with furniture, artwork, lighting and decorative objects, there’s a wonderful energy as pieces change hands and begin the next chapter of their journey.

Behind the scenes, our team is there amongst it all; collecting purchases, carefully wrapping and packing everything from delicate objects to oversized furniture, and coordinating the logistics that take pieces from the fair to destinations across Europe and beyond.

Long days, plenty of activity and a fantastic atmosphere — a few moments from a very busy summer in France.

Il y a quelque chose de vraiment particulier dans l’atmosphère des foires d’antiquités en France pendant l’été — à la fois marchés, lieux de rencontre et toujours pleines de vie.

Organisées par @cipolatsa, ces foires réunissent antiquaires, collectionneurs, décorateurs et acheteurs venus du monde entier, tous à la recherche de cette pièce inattendue. Des arrivées tôt le matin aux allées animées remplies de mobilier, d’œuvres d’art, de luminaires et d’objets décoratifs, une énergie unique règne tandis que les pièces changent de mains et entament un nouveau chapitre de leur histoire.

Dans les coulisses, notre équipe est au cœur de l’action; récupérant les achats, emballant et protégeant soigneusement aussi bien les objets délicats que le mobilier de grande taille, tout en coordonnant la logistique nécessaire pour acheminer chaque pièce depuis la foire vers sa destination, partout en Europe et au-delà.

De longues journées, beaucoup d’activité et une ambiance formidable — quelques moments d’un été particulièrement chargé en France.

A rare look behind the scenes at what goes into protecting an important artwork before it begins its journey.

Here, a Basquiat sits within a museum-standard double crate, surrounded by carefully considered layers of protection. What may appear simply as timber, foam and protective material is really the final stage of a much longer process: understanding the work, assessing how it needs to travel and creating an environment designed to protect it from movement, vibration and the demands of transit.

Last week in our viewing room, we had the honour of welcoming international art advisor James Nicholls, who shared the story behind this remarkable portrait and why Arnold Friberg considered it one of the defining achievements of his career — and a lasting gift to history.

Friberg believed his portrait of Queen Elizabeth II would endure for generations, not simply as a work of art, but as a reflection of Her Majesty’s character, dignity and lifetime of service.

Today, the portrait remains a powerful tribute to an extraordinary monarch and to an artist who sought to honour her with the utmost skill, respect and dedication.

La semaine dernière, dans notre salle de présentation., nous avons eu l’honneur d’accueillir James Nicholls, conseiller international en art, qui nous a fait découvrir l’histoire de ce remarquable portrait et nous a expliqué pourquoi Arnold Friberg le considérait comme l’une des réalisations majeures de sa carrière — et comme un héritage destiné à traverser l’histoire.

Friberg était convaincu que son portrait de la reine Elizabeth II traverserait les générations, non seulement en tant qu’œuvre d’art, mais aussi comme le reflet de son caractère, de sa dignité et d’une vie entière consacrée au service.

Every September, Paris Design Week draws people from across the world to discover what’s next in design. Galleries open their doors, showrooms unveil new collections, historic spaces are transformed, and for a few days the city becomes one enormous meeting place for creativity.

But long before the doors open, the journey has already begun. Furniture leaves workshops in Europe, artworks are collected from galleries across the world, prototypes are packed in studios, and one-off pieces make their way across borders.

For us, that means trucks arriving from every direction, early starts, careful handling and deliveries throughout the city — each carrying a small part of something much bigger.

And there are few better places to stop for a moment than outside the Grand Palais, right in the heart of it all. The world of design is arriving in Paris. And we’re helping bring it here.

Chaque mois de septembre, Paris Design Week attire des visiteurs venus du monde entier pour découvrir les nouvelles tendances du design. Les galeries ouvrent leurs portes, les showrooms dévoilent leurs nouvelles collections, les lieux historiques se transforment et, pendant quelques jours, la ville tout entière devient un immense lieu de rencontre dédié à la créativité.

Mais bien avant l’ouverture des portes, le voyage a déjà commencé. While summer might be coming to an end, the work certainly isn’t.

With the autumn art fair season getting underway, we’re continuing to put the final touches on gallery installations, supporting fair preparations, and taking care of post-sale hangs as artworks make their way to their new homes.

Our teams are also on the road supporting fairs across Europe, while shipments head across the Atlantic to North America in preparation for the winter shows ahead.

Même si l’été touche à sa fin, notre activité, elle, ne ralentit pas.

Alors que la saison automnale des foires d’art démarre, nous continuons à apporter les dernières touches aux installations en galerie, à préparer les prochaines foires et à assurer les accrochages après-vente, lorsque les œuvres rejoignent leurs nouveaux propriétaires.

Nos équipes sont également sur les routes pour accompagner les foires à travers l’Europe, tandis que les œuvres traversent l’Atlantique vers l’Amérique du Nord en préparation des grands rendez-vous de cet hiver.
