Fuck yes Monster Burlesque! These pictures are making me smile so damn hard. Being an ectoplasm freako ghoul to one of my very favorite songs Coil ‘Where Are You’ was peak for me. I love my monster fam so much. The incredible owls and flowers were made by @flyingcardboardtheater and @lindsaymccaw performed that act with us - can’t wait to do more together!!!

100% showered for 45 minutes very worth it

Sometimes if your torn to pieces, actually the correct reaction is to tear back if that’s the only accountability there is

With recent news, that’s unfortunately not “news” to a good portion of the population, mxn letting people down and then saying “oh but don’t ruin their future,” should never be the reaction. Played in blxxd and vampirism commentary on the patriarchal systems, silence, and world too comfortable with rxpe culture we then expect the victims of to be silent about…usually on the side of “protecting” the aggressor, and instead, blaming the other for speaking up or their own reactions to what they went through, or for being “different,” usually from the anger or trauma, and ironically, from being silenced or dismissed.

Anyway, art is political and wanted a reason to get feral with blxxd onstage 🩸🩸🩸 by @hedylamorte

Small clip from Monster Burlesque & Variety Show at The High Dive

Number about the repercussions of being the reaction not the catalyst when people name “a monster,” shout out to the “crazy/demon girl” trope. Recent number in reaction to lost of discussion lately and the apparently not uncommon experience of the horror of not knowing who actually is a monster under a mask, especially when it comes to the men around you. Similar to a vampire they wait, drain you, but what if that’s didn’t kill you, but how do you deal with feeling not quite human and looked at as an “other”? taken in The High Dive by @hedylamorte
