HEDY YANG // OF MOMENTS & MEMORIES // 12.12.25 🏺
@hedyyang_

Hedy Yang is a Detroit based ceramic artist whose work transforms fleeting moments into enduring objects. As a first generation Chinese American artist, Yang approaches ceramics with a sense of care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail that reflects both cultural inheritance and personal experience.

Of Moments and Memories brings together Yang’s atmospheric vessels and sculptural wall works, each piece capturing the emotional register of a particular place in time. The result is a body of work that offers calm, nostalgia, and emotional presence.

Paint, Sip & Show Up 🍵🎨

Asian American creators, there’s a seat for you at our table. Ceramicist Hedy Yang and content creator Eric Cheng are hosting an afternoon of matcha, bowl painting, and conversation, featuring @nisramatcha and @chifanle.chifanle

Sip on matcha while you paint your own ceramic bowl and talk about how politics shows up in our kitchens, our neighborhoods, and our feeds. It’s a chance to slow down, get a little messy, and connect with fellow creators who are shaping how our communities eat, cook, and share.

Everyone leaves with a handmade bowl. Come find a reason and make a plan to vote. 🗳️

📅 Sunday, October 18
🕒 3:30 to 5:30 PM
📍 Ferndale, MI

Seats are limited, so RSVP through the link in our bio to save yours! 💚

I always travel with a box of samples and test tiles to share in my classes but my luggage got really roughed up this time and I have to remake a bunch of it 😭 anyways enjoy the tutorial I used @amacobrent teal blue underglaze, deep sea celadon and ice celadon! Maybe I’ll make an updated tutorial with my sgraffito tools too since they work much better than a pen! by @hedyyang_

Switzerland diaries🇨🇭

We got to see the alpabzug in Engelberg! It’s when the farmers bring the cows down from the mountains to take care of them on the farm closer to home for the winter, they dress them up with flowers and flags and everyone in town welcomes them and it’s the cutest thing ever

Outside of a beauuuutiful 1000 year old monastery!!
