I started writing my thoughts about this race accomplishment over the past week but it got so long that it was more like a blog post. So, in short, but still super long, I want to thank some people who were instrumental in assisting me taking this leap to do something I never would have imagined myself doing. Thanks to:
@tiny3d and @mccreaerin for turning my sick joke into reality
@norcalultras for giving me the opportunity and such a well planned race
I went into it with the mindset of just training for it to see what happens and I never would have registered otherwise
@spunkylilpip for keeping my secret and getting giddy for me
@radiusclinic for diagnosing and fixing my knee. I kept calling them miracle workers for curing me and encouraging me to continue training hard while they provided treatment
@gamette5 for chatting at work about my training questions
@juliarunstheultraworld for being my pre-race distraction. She says she talks a lot when she's nervous and it was exactly what I needed. that and the warm car. #shwings
@fleetfeetracingteam for familiar faces at mile 8 and the finish #fireball
@fleetfeetfolsomroseville for overwhelming attention at mile 20 when i was at the high point of my race that luckily never faded
@itschloeemschulman for post-race wound care advice and shwings inspiration

End of an era. A lifetime of memories from chocolate malts with wooden spoons, peanuts, Bart rides, bobble heads, fireworks, and last but not least family. #oaklandathletics #oaklandcoliseum #fireworksonthefield taken in Oakland Coliseum by @heidip89
