Honored to share this piece again this summer at @macrostieart for their Juried Show and be chosen for second place in the 3D category. Today is the last day of the show over in Grand Rapids. I look forward to applying to MacRostie every summer and showing my work locally in Northern Minnesota. Reflecting upon a year since de-installing my first solo show where this piece was first shown and all the personal insights into the work that come with time. by @heidiwanzek

I am excited to have the opportunity to speak at the Lake Superior Interfaith Community Church in Duluth today regarding my practice and exhibition “Within the Threshold”. I will be discussing further about the body of work and exploring the concept of the threshold and the life/death/life cycle. All are welcome! Service at 10:30 AM by @heidiwanzek

Grateful to share this piece once more. A piece that helped change the direction of my practice and opened the door to follow the thread that began this all. Thanks to all of you who stopped by my show this summer. An excerpt from the back wall of the exhibition on my piece “Not Afraid”: “The glass lives in a state that is caught between a contained whole and shattering into everything and nothingness. As it ventures back towards source, the glass finds itself returned to a fractal language of the natural materials it was born from. Not Afraid exists within the threshold, teetering between life and death. It is this same threshold that we find along the many cycles of our own lives, reflected back to us again and again, by the determinedness of the world around us.” by @heidiwanzek

Last week of “Within the Threshold” If you haven’t yet, I highly encourage you to stop by and be with the work in person. Use your intuition to move slowly through the gallery. Take a seat on the soft spruce benches (fabricated by my @dirtycoyote.tattoo). See what threads you can find between the pieces. Photo documentation doesn’t quite capture the presence of the work, living and breathing in real time and space. Next week the process of de-install will begin and the pieces will cozy back to storage. For anyone who attended the show- don’t hesitate to leave a note in the booklet or reach out to me via email. I would love to hear your thoughts. Observations and conversations from fellow humans is what makes me want to keep making. Come and see it in person at the @duluthart this week 12-5 and into next week for the last days M/T 12-5 before the show closes. by @heidiwanzek

My piece “Stillborn” is on view included in my solo show 𝒲𝒾𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒯𝒽𝓇𝑒𝓈𝒽𝑜𝓁𝒹. It’s been a dream to have my work installed in one place and to see the conversations it’s brought with others. Thank you to the @duluthart for this opportunity! There are only 2 more weeks to come see the show. To those that have already stopped by, thank you so much for taking the time to see it in person and for leaving notes in the booklet. If you haven’t made it yet- now is your chance. It means the world to share this work with you all. Gallery is open M-F: 12-5 by @heidiwanzek

Close ups of “Turn of the Wheel” from my solo exhibition 𝒲𝒾𝓉𝒽𝒾𝓃 𝓉𝒽𝑒 𝒯𝒽𝓇𝑒𝓈𝒽𝑜𝓁𝒹 at the @duluthart institute. An exploration of the non-linearity of time. The potency and autonomy of materials. A question of transformation and origin. The show is up until September 16th if you haven’t seen it yet. by @heidiwanzek
