Tight Spot is a collection of objects exploring four functions: a table, a seat, an ashtray, and a chest.
The collection has been developed in collaboration with Abi, crafted at Marmonil, a third generation Cairo stone company in Egypt.

Stone, both heavy and workable, is shaped around the idea of tension. A pinch, concave or convex is applied to the main volume of the objects turning their strict outlines into organic surfaces. In response to the material’s density the pieces embrace the idea of monumentality. Their forms are structured around the duality between their uncompromising mass and the lightness of the pinch, which operates both as a functional gesture and an aesthetic value.
Crafted in Sinai Pearl, a sand limestone with a slight shell-textured surface, the typologies of the collection form an homogeneous ensemble revealing the subtle sharpness of the tight spots.

Earlier this year we had the pleasure of working with @harmo.paris on the design of the racks and fixtures for @family3_0 newest store in Aix-en-Provence.

The various elements were designed in order to find a balance between a rational use of stainless steel and a need for maximum visual impact.
We opted for a mat finish, the most production-efficient and durable surface, and decided to use both welded and mechanical connections in order to obtain a highly precise but delicate outcome.
Our intention was to create fixtures that would bring the sense of aesthetic usually associated with collectible design into the technical requirements of retail design. As designers, makers and installers we could apply our consideration and expertise on the entirety of the process, creating a coherent installation both in terms of production and user/customer experience.
The elements consist of 38 linear meters of racks, six hooks, four door handles, three shelves, one corner shelf, eight outdoor tables, four lounge chairs, two counter stools.

REST Chair in a mirror polished version.

Originally developed for @family3_0 in Aix-en-Provence, the REST chair draws on the fixtures designed for the store while referencing the post-war furniture developed by René Malaval throughout the 1950s and 1960s.

Malaval’s now-iconic furniture from the South of France was distinguished by its use of leftover steel plates from the ammunition industry, located in part in the Hautes-Pyrénées, where the designer/welder was originating. Defined by a distinctive circular perforation pattern combined with tubular steel frames or curved steel plates, his benches, chairs and tables were widely adopted by both municipalities and private clients. His benches in particular, with their robust yet elegant and remarkably comfortable construction, can still be found in villages throughout Provence, the Camargue and the French Pyrenees. They remain one of the most emblematic examples of Southern French public furniture.

The stainless steel easy chair is suitable for out-and-indoor and crafted from 6mm folded stainless steel. It showcases exaggerated armrests and a twenty degrees inclined seating ensuring a comfortable yet active posture. The perforated surfaces promote airflow and improve thermal comfort, while an enlarged opening in the right armrest is designed to accommodate a parasol, providing shade and protecting both the chair and its occupant from intense sunlight. by @heimviladrich

PAAL Light, process and production.
Merging two of our most recurring materials into one singular object. Polyamide, with its butter-like natural color and smooth surface is used as a diffuser in association with a brushed aluminum structure.
The standing light was first displayed during @collectiblefair in NYC as part of our ā€˜On Waiting’ collection. It reinterprets standing lights commonly found in offices and waiting rooms and showcases a heightened focus on material and surface combinations. Polyamide (PA) is a thermoplastic, highly durable, when casted, it is often used as gears and sliding technical elements due to its self-lubricating characteristics, we have used it for its strength and slight transparency. Aluminum (AL) is just so versatile that it has become almost a default material in our workshop. Combining these two was always on our minds, they contrast and complement each other in so many ways, and adding light as a third material enabled us to push their esthetic characteristics to their full extent. by @heimviladrich

Undisciplined Ethnobotany, Scenography, L’Orangerie Montpellier, 2026 @jdpmontpellier

Undisciplined Ethnobotany departs from the premise that ethnobotany does not belong exclusively to the domain of science, nor to the authority of institutional knowledge production. To insist on the presence of art and design is therefore not an act of undisciplinarity, but a recognition that these practices, too, participate in the study of how humans relate to the vegetal world, and how these relations shape cultures, economies, cosmologies, and futures.

Conceived by Heim+Viladrich, the exhibition unfolds as a testing ground for exhibition making.
The scenography was developed within the constraints of a two-day exhibition format: All structures were built entirely from repurposed materials sourced from a discarded light installation and past retail projects. As surface treatment, only a rough brushing was applied to the various aluminium profiles in order to bring visual cohesion to the installation. No coating nor any colouring was applied to any of the materials present within the 150m2 space. Standardised particle boards used for the tables will be repurposed for box making, and tin cast numbers referencing the projects name and descriptions will be molten back to ingots for future experiments.

Vase_Proteor, Centre National des Arts Plastiques, 2024 @cnapfr
Opening tonight of the exhibition « Créer un Vase » at @citedudesign. Vase_proteor is one of the selected projects among the laureates.

Vase_Proteor delves into the specificities of the Proteor industrial site. Through the analysis of the company’s various production processes, tools, materials, techniques and technicians it establishes the basis for the design of the object. As Europe’s leading prosthesis and orthosis manufacturer, Proteor’s material landscape is centred around the use of soft - mainly plastics - materials.
The numerous techniques employed are developed to shape textiles, foams and sheets into 3D forms, strong yet flexible enough to adapt to the body’s ergonomics. The resulting vase captures this industrial identity, serving as a testament to the production process and the craftsmanship of the technicians involved.

Huge thank to the entire Proteor team — both the marketing department and the production workshops: Alexandra for setting up the collaboration, Cédric for scanning, 3D design, and counter-mold milling, David for milling and assembly, Céline for PETG thermoforming, and Camille for leather thermoforming and assembly.

And most of all, thank you to the Centre National Des Arts Plastiques @cnapfr for the beautiful experience, the exhibition curator Céline Saraiva and all the people involved in this artistic commission.šŸŗ by @heimviladrich

Glissière collection on show at @mve_collection until the 23rd of April.

The Glissière series, initiated in 2022, draws inspiration from the brutalist and modular forms found in the urban landscape. Seating elements, the starting point of the collection, are conceived as autonomous units capable of generating different spatial compositions. The new additions extend the modular logic through a family of furniture including tables, consoles, and armchairs.
The pieces are based on a deliberate economy of means: production using French oak sourced from industrial standards of the timber industry. In contrast to their sculptural presence, the pieces are made exclusively from construction-grade oakĀ beams, using standardized sectionsĀ ofĀ 150Ɨ300, 150Ɨ200, and 200Ɨ200 mm.
Glissière proposes objects at the boundary between furniture and constructed elements, designed equally for domestic contexts as well as public, cultural, or scenographic spaces. taken in Rue de la Verrerie by @heimviladrich

Last year, @rimasuu_std teamed with @endvc to redesign the @heimviladrich website as a structured archive inspired by indexes, reflecting the studio’s approach.

Precise, lightweight, and responsive, the interface balances digital efficiency with subtle analog depth. Calibrated whites, meaningful margins, layered transparencies, smooth transitions inspired by the motion of reading, and a strict editorial grid create a quiet reference to printed matter.

Thanks to Lauriane Heim & @johan_viladrich for their trust.
