INTERFACING AS PRACTICE: Modulating Spirals and Sonic Ferments

The BFA Programme, Jindal School of Liberal Arts & Humanities (JSLH) is pleased to invite you to a session with Rahul Juneja, exploring the detection of Hekh, its stakes, agents, modulators and ongoing modulations—situating framework building as an expansive form of artistic practice.

The session asks: How do we move in, with and through the worlds we inherit, inhabit and invent as cultural practitioners? What new vocabularies, protocols and infrastructures must be conjured to sustain these inquiries?

Recorded in Makassar, Maros, Barru, Pare-Pare and Palopo, SULAWESI is the third work in the series, following after JAVA and ACEH. This work shows how the impact of the violence of 1946/47 in South Sulawesi when Captain Raymond Westerling and his Special Forces launched a violent campaign to suppress the Indonesian independence movement in that area. Thousands were killed in what became one of the most brutal episodes of the colonial war. How does the memory of this violence persist today? About the performance:

*This Performance
is a reiteration.*

Panjeri Artists' Union is glad to host ‘Unpoor’ Images of A Revolution', a lecture performance developed by Anurag Singraur and Rahul Juneja, with Hekh.

~ Here, Faint growls of gorillas whisper around a now caged space in College of Art, New Delhi- used for recreation, gatherings, playing, in/de(toxicating) and sleeping. Tracing the legacy of the multiple protests in College of Art New Delhi, its implications, and its (fading) memory- it unravels different orders of time, rest, and gestures of space-making in response to legacy and institutionalisation. This (now) caged space emerges as a glitch one with no author, no legacy, where architectures of memory, vulnerability, solidarity can be reformed. ~

The performance is based on the essay “ Faint Growls of Guerriling Gorrilas”, co-authored by the performers in Call #2, a multiform journal run by Hekh. Hekh is cultural interface based in Karnal, Haryana bringing together young artists, researchers, and thinkers in India. Finding its origins in a punjabi folk singing technique with a constant, vibrato like modulation, it translates to an undying call. It thinks of technics of amplification, resonating, echoing, transmuting as social and cultural technologies- informing and interfering in frequencies past, present and future. by @hekh.in

Dear friends
We invite you for an online workshop “Imaginary Conundrum: Telepathic Drawing” with Jazael Olguín Zapata on 17th January, 2026, 6:30 p.m. onwards. This workshop will be held online, with an option to gather at the hekh studios in case participants want to interact with each other.

Please mark your interest with the google form in bio, which also contains all the details:

Imaginary Conundrum: Telepathic Drawing is an online workshop that combines meditative reflection with collective drawing exercises to explore telepathy as a speculative, relational practice. Rather than treating telepathy as a paranormal phenomenon, the workshop approaches it as a shared sensitivity: a way of tuning into others beyond physical presence, language, or direct communication. Here, Drawing becomes a tool to register intuition, resonance, interference, and misalignment—engaging in the construction of a collective imaginary that emerges across distance and non-presential time.

This workshop is part of activations under Call #2, second publication by Hekh.
