I am so happy that I can now share the beautiful Rosie’s engagement ring! Keeping this stunning ring a secret has been tough but such a joy to bring to life for Danielle to propose in Crete last week.

I’ve known Rosie for several years now as a school mum, but she was also in my husband Marc’s school year right from prep school. Rosie has recently joined the wedding world by retraining as the most amazing celebrant. I had the privilege of seeing her at work at my bestie @redpeacockphotographyltd ‘s grandmother’s memorial, and it’s been incredible to watch her business grow and develop. If you’re in need of a celebrant, you must meet @heldbyrosie

But back to the ring! Danielle approached me at the @ampthill_wedding_show last year while supporting Rosie on her stand to discuss a possible engagement ring for Rosie and we not so subtly measured her ring size and looked at my metal samples.

Danielle fell in love with the warm tone of hazelnut gold and loved the idea of a fairly simple ring but with an orange centre stone to reflect Rosie’s favourite colour and the sunset in Crete where Danielle would be whisking Rosie off to.

She selected this SUNNING burnt orange diamond in a pear cut as the centre piece, claw set in hazelnut gold with a subtle heart shaped gallery bar at the round end of the stone.

It is always so humbling to be chosen to create these super symbolic and meaningful pieces for my clients, but it hits extra hard when it’s for someone I know!

Both Danielle @thesundaeserviceuk and Rosie are the most beautiful souls and I’m so glad they’ve each other. Both of these ladies have the most incredible calming aura. Danielle is Rosie’s biggest hype girl and super fan as well as her partner in life. I could not be happier for them 🫶

I’m now part of the ‘What I’m Looking At’ artwork experiment.

As a wedding celebrant, when I first saw @freddieyauner’s #mirrormask work I had imaginings of how it would be in ceremony, for a couple to see themselves as I see them 💕 … in reality it would likely be entirely distracting and take from the moment (though if interested I can definitely bring it to our Creative Planning Meetings 😁😜🙏🏽)

This is us on the mask’s first outing frolicking in the @hitchinlavender fields for a family birthday. 🎂

So far it’s brought me Big joy, helped us celebrate LIFE, appreciate nature and beauty and let us see ourselves within it and a part of it.

Ceremonies held in Nature are already special, anchored by the elements - trees, stones, rivers, by Earth. Here are a few microhabits I do as a celebrant to spark the outdoor ceremony magic:

1. 🎵 SING: my comfortable-vocal-range 90s playlist will be on, on the drive over for a good old sing-a-long. Warming up the voice is a must.

2. 🕰️ WORK TO TIME: arriving in good time means I can be at ease; addressing any issues well in advance and get set-up with no rush. More relaxed and grounded.

3. 🌀 CONNECT TO THE SACRED: once I arrive, I create a sacred space. There are many ways I do this practically and energetically. More often I’ll create an altar space with fresh flowers, seasonal elemental items, sometimes photos and any items for your rituals.

4. 🎤 SOUND CHECK: a big emphasis of my #heartledcelebrant training was using my voice with amplification to create intimacy. So whether your ceremony has 20 or 220 guests my sound system will be set up well in advance for no vocal strain and a sound that feels personal.

5. ✨ INTENTION SETTING: Get still, breathe deep, speak my intentions for the ceremony - for love / remembrance / honouring / kindness - see the ceremony flowing beautifully in my mind’s eye.

6.🚰 DRINK WATER & mind my business. And get ready to welcome your guests.

Come, let’s walk a little together. That’s what we do as #heartledcelebrants. We walk beside you as you cross important thresholds of life, so you’re being seen, heard and centred.

Some thresholds are of our choosing, like weddings as we commit with intention to love another.

Some thresholds are thrust upon us as with unexpected grief or bereavement, where there is a need to say a goodbye or release something in order to move forward.

Outdoor wedding ceremony prepping. A special couple connected by oceans, lovers of Water, totally undeterred by the rain for their outdoor ceremony. Umbrellas brought out for the guests, on with the proceedings. Loved their commitment!
