Life’s too short to be bored, so I picked up (too) many hobbies with my cat Mavy by my side 💙

I want to take a moment to appreciate my #palomapointellescarf 😍 I finished this during the summer but I feel like I didn’t wear it enough!

I knitted it on the size large so I could wear it on my head, as a top and also as a little spring scarf.

It was my first pointelle project so it was a bit challenging but @thelooseloop app makes everything easier! For my next lace project i want to use their chart feature tho, i feel like thats gonna be a game changer ✨

I used @knittingforolive cotton merino in the color lime yellow ❤️

Mi ofrenda para mis seres queridos ❤️

Donde quiera que estén, siempre siempre los llevo en mi corazón y espero con tanto amor que vengan a visitarme en unos días 🥹

-

This is my Día de Muertos ofrenda, made with love for those I’ve lost. In my culture, we believe our loved ones return to visit us during this time.

Today, October 27th, More and Titi will come visit me. 🤍 From October 28th to November 1st, we welcome different souls, with each day dedicated to them according to the circumstances of their passing.

November 2nd is the main celebration, when our loved ones return to share a meal with us as we celebrate their lives and cherish their memory. The following day, they return to Mictlán—the land of the dead—until we welcome them home again next year. 🕯️ by @helenamavyy

Pumpkin carving date with my friends ❤️ so grateful for you guys 🥹 by @helenamavyy

So excited for this project 🫶🏻

I went out with my friends and came back home in the evening and the first (and only) thing I did was sit down and start my #sandokcablesweater with the KAL that @thelooseloop and @tuvasandok organized together!

In one hour I managed to knit until row 18 of the back increases which isn’t a lot but that’s okay, I was getting familiar with the pattern 🤭

I don’t know why my videos are reaching mostly men who don’t even knit lol, so if you’re a woman and if you’re a woman that knits it’d be great to connect here 🤭🩷

Happy #knitting ! by @helenamavyy

I can’t wait to start knitting my #CableSweater by @tuvasandok in the KAL with @thelooseloop ! 💚

I’ve been obsessed with this sweater for so long and to think that I’ll cast on this Saturday gives me goosebumps!

I’m using #peergynt in the color matcha and #ballerinachunkymohair in the color lime punch both by @sandnesgarn 🥹

To think that by December 13th I’ll have this sweater don’t (hopefully) is INSANE! 🥹

I asked for advice on the color choice and i ended up getting the dark + light mix and I feel like it was a great decision! 💚💚💚 by @helenamavyy

Do you have any idea of what my presents will be? 🤭👀

This is my first time knitting a sweater with a saddle construction, and it’s definitely been a learning curve, but I think I actually prefer it to raglan construction🫣

The amount of self-control it took to keep working like a normal person during chapter 19 deserves to be studied.

If you know, YOU KNOW 😬

I can’t decide which book I like more, if #thelovehypothesis or #lovetheoretically !!!

I know there are stores in Canada that carry the Ballerina Chunky Mohair by @sandnesgarn however their stock was always so limited for the colors I wanted! And keeping in mind that the #sandokcablesweater can get priceyyyyy I needed to get the colors I wanted not just the colors that were available.

So I went to @theloophalifax for the first time ever and they had a great selection of colors plus a new unopened box with more colors! I truly think the gods of #knitting were with me 😂

I also will use this yarn to knit the #almacardigan by @milottebyvic which I’m a little nervous about because I saw a video reviewing the pattern and it gets confusing in some parts but I’m confident that my patience and the @thelooseloop app will help me understand everything!

Should I make a vlog? by @helenamavyy

I can’t believe that the yarn I’ve been looking for for months was at @theloophalifax 😂🤭 it was truly my lucky day because they also just received a new shipment from @sandnesgarn with lots of colors!

Happy knitting everyone!

There are only 13 Fridays left before Christmas, and I still have A LOT of knitted presents to make… so officially, all my free time is now knitting time 🫡🧶🎄

Thoughts and prayers for our wrists.

I grew up thinking I had to choose one thing, become really good at it, and somehow make it useful.

As I’ve gotten older, I’ve realized how much I disagree with that.

Not everything we love needs to become a career, a side hustle, or something we master. Sometimes you’re allowed to do something simply because it makes an ordinary Tuesday feel a little lighter.

So yes, I’ll keep collecting hobbies. I’ll knit and paint and bake and read and make things with my hands. I’ll be terrible at some things, get better at others, and probably move on from a few.

I spent too long wondering where someone like me was supposed to fit in this world.

Maybe I was never supposed to fit into one little box in the first place 🤍
