[CHRONIQUE D'UN OUTIL DE TRANSMISSION]

-⚖️ DEAD MAN WALKING paru chez les Éditions BayardGraphic'

[Roman graphique][🗓️26/08/2026][📃304 pages][SP : OUI]
✒️ Œuvre originale : Sœur Helen Prejean @helenprejean
✒️ Adaptation Rose Vines @rosevines

Spending the afternoon with @helenprejean in New Orleans has been one of the biggest highlights of the year. Even though we had just met, it felt like two old friends catching up. We exchanged stories - and laughed (a lot), and we signed books to each other. We found connection and similarities in how our vocations chose us - rather than the other way around. And how we both - without hesitation, said “yes”. It is an honor to have both our names on the cover of Feltus’ memoir. Sister Helen was the one who encouraged Feltus to start writing - and that is really where the making of Feltus’ memoir began. I am grateful to Helen for her encouragement and support, her impactful advice, and profound words of wisdom. I hold them close to my heart and often remind myself of her words as I continue on this journey with Feltus’ story. Mostly, I am grateful for my new friend. 🤍 #booksofig #redemption #deathrow #memoir #truecrime by @helenprejean

Meet Christa Pike — the only woman on death row in Tennessee.

She was 18 when she and two other people committed a crime. She’s the only one of the three facing execution.

At the time, Christa was living with untreated bipolar disorder and PTSD, the result of a lifetime of severe physical and sexual abuse that started when she was a toddler. Because she was the only woman on death row, she spent 27 years in solitary confinement — until Fall 2024.

Christa is scheduled to be executed on September 30, 2026.

If it happens, she’ll be the first woman executed in Tennessee in over 200 years — and the only person, man or woman, executed in the state’s modern era for a crime committed at 18, 19, or 20 years old.

You can help. Sign the petition to commute her death sentence, and share this post so more people know her story.
