Happy Birthday to the one and only Trash Man
(aka Thrasher aka Thrashiez aka Trash aka dumdum aka sweet potato aka my son)

He’s 6 today but he has changed my life for as long as I live. King of belly rubs, snout kisses, and being an idiot. May you have many more years ahead, my sweet prince. We love you 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 taken in Austin Farm Sanctuary by @hellajo_

Truly could not be happier to say this lil crazy diamond has made it to a full year. He is truly such a badass rockstar. He’s been through so much but always ALWAYS remains trusting, kind, and optimistic. He will never have to see the inside of a cage again or be seen as anything else than what he is: the sweetest happiest companion pig, individual, and drama queen. Unfortunately most pigs and farmed animals don’t see the same fate as Syd. Pls consider Syd & his sentient friends when you choose your next meal, makeup product, shampoo, etc. They value their lives just as much as we value ours <3

For those who don’t know already, Syd is named after Syd Barrett, the original frontman and legendary songwriter for Pink Floyd. After he left the band in 1968 due to serious mental health issues, his band mates went on to write multiple songs about him, including this one “Shine On You Crazy Diamond.”

Thank you everyone who sent birthday wishes and who came out to celebrate our lil potato man <3 he had the best day ever and slept for a full 12 hours afterwards lol taken in Austin Farm Sanctuary by @hellajo_

As of 1 year ago (give or take a few days), I have the best job in the world.
From volunteer to onsite caretaker- I could not be happier or more thankful. I owe it all to the residents here, my coworkers, mentors, family, and the volunteers 🖤

Long overdue for good ole fashioned Thrasher dump

If you haven’t stopped eating pigs yet, pls consider it and look at this adorable, gentle, highly intelligent and affectionate companion. His species is the 5th smartest animal on our planet, and yet are abused on unthinkable levels daily.
If you had the choice to spare a sentient animal’s life, not to mention one of the smartest animals, why wouldn’t you? (And you do have the choice.) taken in Austin Farm Sanctuary by @hellajo_

#GivingTuesday is comin up and Team Pig needs y’all’s help replenishing our medical fund! Do it for Thrasher, who visited the vet earlier this year for a rib injury. Do it for Willy, our beloved top pig who passed due to chronic arthritis and pain. Do it for Wally, who suffered from breaking his femur and required an extensive surgery that was the first of its kind, and receives MagnaWave treatments for chronic arthritis. Do it for Tink, the queen bee who continuously suffers from skin cancer and injuries from losing her place in the hierarchy. Do it for Syd, our sweet baby who has already overcome so much in his first 6 months of life. Do it for Gus, who recently visited the vet because he decided to eat a billion acorns and poisoned himself. Do it for Boris, our senior gentle giant who spent the majority of his life without hoof care and has suffered greatly from it. Do it for Lucy, who experienced a massive injury to the back of her ear TWICE this year, and required constant care. Do it for Hamlet, who tore a ligament in his front leg a couple months ago, and his sister Opal, who has osteoarthritis in all her limbs.
Do it for TEAM PIG!!!!

Pls donate through the link in my bio <3 taken in Austin Farm Sanctuary by @hellajo_

✨Happy 6mo birthday to my sparkly-eyed little potato man squirrel baby escape artist acorn-lookin child ✨

I’m the luckiest pig mama in the world and am just beyond grateful that we were able to save baby Syd. Gigantic THANK YOU to @cashbunnybillionare for finding him & and caring so much that you would do anything to get him out of that place, @itsearrrlll for immediately sending me Kristin’s post & being the best pig auntie ever, and @cfullerwigg / @austinfarmsanctuary for providing him a safe & loving space while my life has been a shit show 🖤
Syd has been through so much in just his 6 months on this plane, but somehow he has never stopped trusting me. Having his trust & love means everything to me. He is my baby, my sun and moon, my everything; and the most resilient baby I’ve had the pleasure of caring for.

Things have been sad this week so here’s an update from the weeks before :(

My most chaotic edit thanks to waiting for 3 weeks to post something and shoving 2 weeks into one insane video lol.

Also big thank you to @thefarriergroup for always being so kind and helping us give our babies the best care!! taken in Austin Farm Sanctuary by @hellajo_

Happy #worldveganday !! Every single one of these beautiful, sentient beings deserves the right to be an individual, to not be slaughtered, to not be viewed as a commodity, to not be used as entertainment, to not be seen as a pest or nuisance, to not have their babies or mothers taken away from them, to not be forcibly bred, to receive medical treatment WITHOUT pain, and to live a peaceful life in a happy home.

If you love ALL animals, go vegan y’all 🖤 taken in Austin Farm Sanctuary by @hellajo_
