POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
💜 Baby Donk has officially met his first member of the AFS family.

Yesterday, our team member EJ visited him at Texas A&M. After days of only seeing pictures of this very sick little boy, it meant so much to finally have someone from our close orbit beside him.

And he is looking brighter, stronger, and a little more spirited. 🥹🫏

The milk, fluids, antibiotics, plasma, and intensive care he has received are working. Our hope is being validated, and we can see a real path forward for him.

But he is not out of the woods yet. After spending his first week of life struggling, he will remain hospitalized through the rest of this week and may need several more weeks of intensive care and recovery.

We are so grateful to everyone who has helped us save this baby. Because of you, we are on the other side of the weekend with this little boy still here, still fighting, and getting stronger. ❤️‍🩹

Now, we need to cover the emergency and ICU expenses already incurred while preparing for everything his continued healing will require.

You can support Baby Donk with a one-time gift toward his medical care or become one of his monthly sponsors. Donate through Instagram, Facebook, Venmo at @austinfarmsanctuary, or the options linked in our bio.

Thank you for rallying around him and becoming part of his story. We cannot wait to bring him home. 💜

This opening paragraph stopped me for a second. 💜

The road to Austin Farm Sanctuary opens into 95 acres of pasture, mud, hay, healing, noise, quiet, grief, joy, and more love than I could ever fully explain.

And somehow, @tribeza captured so much of that.

We’re deeply honored to be featured in Pasture of Possibility by Heidi Okla, with photos by Sarah Throop. Thank you to Heidi and the Tribeza team for telling this story with such care.

What means the most is not just seeing Austin Farm Sanctuary recognized.

It’s seeing farmed animals included in the story of Austin.

Seeing goats, pigs, cows, chickens, turkeys, donkeys, water buffalo, and so many others recognized not as categories or commodities, but as individuals. Known by name. Known by story. Known by temperament.

That is the heart of sanctuary.

A place where lives that were almost discarded are met with care, dignity, family, and a future.

Thank y’all for helping make a world where stories like this are possible. 🌿

2025 has been a really lovely time. (I know the world around us is falling to pieces but I’m going to focus on my inner world for a minute) I’ve gotten to feel and give a ton of love to people and animals and crafts and food. I’ve spent time laughing and lounging and working really goddamn hard. I’ve celebrated and grieved and I wouldn’t change a dang thing. Thanks for being my people.

I’m in love with my life, in love with my friends, in love with my acquaintances, in love with food, in love with it all. Feel so lucky to be celebrated by these people. 💌 Special thank you to @hellajo_ for having us as @austinfarmsanctuary and Sharon at for the lemon bars. Made me cry so hard.
