So grateful to have Won 🎉

ÂŁ5,000 at the Venture Accelerator, two years after I first pitched CentraPath as nothing more than an idea.

This time I came back with a real, trading business behind me, and walked away with the prize. CentraPath is backed by the University of Chester and Santander Universities for the next phase of the business, and honestly? Standing there, I could feel how far it’s come.

So it feels like the right moment to say: CentraPath is out of stealth mode.

In two years I’ve delivered 20+ programmes the length of the country to universities, the NHS and corporates. 231% growth in the first full year, all through referrals. Plus I have had the pleasure of coaching the most incredible leaders who inspire me ass much as I help them.

What I do: workplace stress and burnout training and execcoaching that helps organisations meet their duty of care AND build real human capability. Compliance is the floor. Optimising performance and wellbeing together is the real prize.

Team workshops. Line manager training. Executive leadership coaching.

Huge thanks to the amazing judges, and to everyone at @ventureprogramme @chestercareers who believed in this from the very start. And of course, a big thank you to @vicky_hayhurst for your continued support over the past two years.

Prolonged stress rarely announces itself clearly.

More often, it shows up in behaviour.

Scrolling more than usual. Drinking a bit more. Eating differently. Shopping impulsively.
Being more reactive. Snapping at people you care about. Feeling impatient. Cancelling plans. Withdrawing.

We tell ourselves we’re just busy. Just tired. Just going through a demanding period.

But when recovery isn’t happening, something has to absorb the pressure. And often, it’s our behaviour.

Stress doesn’t stay contained. It shifts the emotional tone of conversations, teams and homes, whether we intend it to or not.

This clip is taken from a longer conversation where I was speaking on a podcast about stress and burnout, where I unpack this in more depth.

Sometimes the first sign of burnout isn’t exhaustion.
It can be unhelpful coping behaviours that slowly become your new normal. taken in Liverpool Podcast Studios by @hellehammonds

Today is the final part of explaining the three dimensions of burnout within the most widely recognised and researched model.

While this framework highlights common patterns, burnout is always personal. Each experience is shaped by role, pressure, personality, and context. The dimensions give structure, but the lived reality is individual.

Many of you have messaged to say the descriptions have resonated. Burnout often affects people who care deeply, who are driven, and who are used to achieving. Understanding the pattern is not about labelling struggle. It is about making sense of it. And clarity is the first step towards protecting both wellbeing and sustainable performance.

If this resonates, I would genuinely value your reflections. Supporting high-achieving professionals to understand burnout patterns, rebuild confidence, and sustain performance is the focus of my work. by @hellehammonds

Burnout isn’t just about exhaustion.

This is part two of my three-part series breaking down what burnout actually is.

The second dimension is depersonalisation.

After working with hundreds of people, this is the one they recognise instantly.

It can look like:
– Feeling detached from your work
– Becoming cynical or irritable
– Losing empathy
– Going emotionally numb
– Treating people more like tasks than humans

It’s not that you don’t care.
It’s that your system is trying to protect you.

If you’ve ever thought, “I’m just not myself anymore at work”, this is often what’s happening.

Here is a little post I have made for my LinkedIn account, but I thought I would share it here as well. Often, people don’t realise they are moving into burnout until they are completely floored by it.

So, this week I am going to explain what the three dimensions are, based on the most widely recognised definition of burnout, and what that actually looks like in a more human way.

Please scroll through the images if you, or someone you care about, might be experiencing prolonged and/or high stress at work. If you lead other people, it is important to have an idea of what burnout actually looks like.

I hope this is helpful to someone who needs to hear it. I will post the other two dimensions that make up burnout this week. by @hellehammonds

We need to change how we talk about mental health.

Often, we don’t mention our mental health until it feels like a problem. We tend to pathologise our struggles, treating them like a failure rather than a natural part of being human.

But mental health isn’t something we only “have” when things go wrong. We have it all the time.

Think of it like physical health. You wouldn’t go to one Pilates class and think you’re fit for life. Mental health is the same. It’s ongoing, it fluctuates, and it requires daily care and compassion through every season.

Today is Time to Talk Day. My hope is that we can start moving away from only talking about this when things feel heavy.

Talking doesn’t have to be a big, dramatic event. Sometimes it’s just about being honest about where we are and making space for others to do the same.

How are you actually doing today?

It’s been a crazy work week in a good way – so much so that it’s taken me until Friday to have a minute to share what I got up to on Monday.

I was very kindly asked to be a guest speaker by the unbelievable, beautiful inside and out @iamclairelou to be on @thesoulspod . We had a good chat about all things BURNOUT, life, being a mama and business owner, and about one million other things.

Afterwards, I thought of all the millions of other things I could have said, as I always do but what I loved was chatting with these girls who really want to make the world a more soulful and lovely place.

2016 I definitely had a look I was going for, and it didn’t involve many clothes!

What a year. It felt like anything was possible. I met the most incredible people, and the things we did at GymClass… now I look back and it kind of feels like a dream.

All the people who helped me build my dream, and all the wonderful people who came to do what felt like more than just a workout. We really did build something special together, a true community.

I still get messages from people saying it was their favourite studio and how much they miss it. It didn’t end how I had hoped or dreamed, and that broke my heart for a long time. But now I’m older, and time has passed, I can see that’s just how life is.

It wasn’t the year though, it was the people that made it special (weirdly so many people who were such a big part of this I have no pictures of).

This week I saw my daughter after work and she said,
“Have you been with your clients today?”

I said yes and asked how she could tell.

She said I seemed more upbeat, more motivated… happier.
(There was me thinking I was upbeat and happy all the time.)

As soon as she said it, I knew what it was.

It’s the focus and direction that comes from finally being in the right place.
From doing work that aligns with who I am.

Helping others is a core value of mine.
When people feel better about themselves, it does something to me too.

Not every day is easy.
But when work has purpose, it can light you up.

I wish that feeling for everyone in 2026 🤍 by @hellehammonds
