Does this sound familiar?

Well my friend, you are not alone. Just like me, I’ve worked with so many other women who are struggling with their health. Our health is so dynamic and connected to our mind, gut and nutrition.

It took me going through this journey to understand how I can best look after myself, and truthfully take measures beyond nutrition to feel like my best self.

If you want more information or just want to get the conversation started, feel free to DM me. It’s time for you to take charge of your health, even if your bloodwork says everything is “normal”. 💜

Check out the link in my bio to learn more about how you can start your healing journey and if you’re up for it, come be a part of my pod! Find the Balanced Bodies Podcast 🎧 wherever you like to listen. 🙌🏽 taken in Ontario by @hello.nutrition

I am excited to share with you my latest venture - the Balanced Bodies Podcast! 🎉

As a dietitian who loves all foods and promotes them without guilt, I wanted to create a space where I could share my knowledge and passion for wellness in a fun and entertaining way.

As a busy mom and wife myself, I understand the challenges of maintaining a healthy lifestyle while juggling multiple responsibilities.

That's why I created Balanced Bodies - to provide practical tips and strategies for achieving optimal health, without sacrificing the things we love.

In each episode, I'll be joined by experts in the field of nutrition, fitness, and mental health, as well as real people with inspiring stories of transformation. We'll discuss everything from intuitive eating to meal planning, from stress management to self-care, and everything in between.

But don't worry, it's not all serious talk - I love to dance and have fun, and I bring that same energy to my podcast. You can expect plenty of laughs, jokes, and even some impromptu dance breaks!

So whether you're a busy parent, a student, or just someone looking to live your best life, Balanced Bodies has something for you. Join me on this exciting journey towards optimal health and wellness - subscribe to Balanced Bodies today!

10 Things I’ve Learned at 41:

1. Healing yourself is a non-negotiable. When I made space for it, everything else in my life got easier instead of heavier.

2. My energy matters more than my schedule. If I’m drained, nothing works. If I’m fueled, even the busy days feel doable.

3. Women really do set the tone at home. When I am aligned, nourished, and grounded, the whole house feels different.

4. The basics always win. Eating well, sleeping enough, and staying consistent with the small habits move me forward more than any “perfect” streak.

5. My body whispers before it yells. Paying attention to the early signs could have saved me from hitting the wall.

6. Nutrition is only one part of the puzzle. Stress, sleep, movement, mindset… they all matter too.

7. Saying no is a form of taking care of myself. I don’t owe anyone burnout.

8. Boundaries changed the game. Creating clear limits for myself lowered the guilt, protected my energy, and gave me the mental space to actually enjoy my friends and family.

9. My kids don’t need me to be flawless. They need to see what taking care of myself looks like in real life.

10. Growing older feels empowering. I trust myself more, worry less, and finally allow myself to want bigger things.

✨ You’re not just tired. You may be in burnout mode.

Burnout looks like:
❌ Waking up tired, no matter how much you sleep
❌ Brain fog + irritability
❌ Sugar + coffee cravings
❌ Feeling like “everything is too much”
❌ Frequent headaches or tension
❌ Loss of motivation, even for things you enjoy

This isn’t laziness. This is your body screaming for restoration.

💬 Comment “ENERGY” if this resonates, and I’ll DM you a list of 5 foods to help reset your energy. by @hello.nutrition

Has anyone ever told you to cut down on desserts in order to prevent diabetes? Or that you should stop eating cultural foods because of your diabetes? Here are 5 common misconceptions you should know about type 2 diabetes.

🧬 #1: Type 2 diabetes is a genetic disease.
Many people often confuse type 1 diabetes, which is genetics-based, with type 2 diabetes, which is more influenced by lifestyle habits and environmental factors.

🍬 #2: Eating a lot of sugar causes diabetes.
Our body converts the sugar we eat into glucose, which is then used by our body as energy. Glucose causes our blood sugar to rise, but this doesn’t mean that eating sugar directly causes diabetes. However, a diet rich in sugar can lead to a higher waist circumference, which is a risk factor for type 2 diabetes.

🥗 #3: I need to go on a special diet.
Many people believe that they have to stop enjoying cultural foods and start a strict diet in order to manage their diabetes. In reality, diabetes can be managed as long as you have a balanced diet and exercise regularly. Hello Nutrition can help you create a meal plan that is tailored to your needs and includes all of your favorite foods.

🥐 #4: I have to avoid carbs.
Carbs is an essential nutrient that our body breaks down into glucose to use as energy, so we cannot cut out carbs completely. Diabetes is not about avoiding carbohydrates, but about choosing better carb options and controlling our portion size.

⭐️ #5: I don’t need to manage my blood sugars.
High blood sugars can lead to many complications such as eye damage, heart problems, and nerve damage. Having a working blood sugar monitor at home can help you manage your blood sugars more efficiently.

Diabetes is absolutely manageable and I love showing my clients how to practically balance their blood sugars, increase their energy and starting living their best life!

Be sure to follow for more great tips!
