Micah, Ayla, Levi & Ozzy share an amazing character home in the heart of Strathcona. They purchased it back in 2019 & it was love at first sight.

Built in 1908 & meticulously updated by the previous owners, the house has a rich history within the neighbourhood. @lordstrathconaonhorseback & @sparklesrealness were bestowed a book of its past to prove it. Ayla also found some old, rolled up architectural plans in one of the closets which she framed & now sit in their living room.

Spanning over 3,500 square feet with 6 bedrooms total, their home is large yet feels very cozy… & especially festive this time of year! 9 foot ceilings, wide plank Scandinavian bleached oak floors, archways, a spindled staircase, a warm, marble fireplace & an open plan make up its beauty. But it’s the personal touches that complete it - a moody bourbon room sits on the top floor, a brewery-slash-boys cave is in the basement, a wine pantry stocked with their favourite bottles for entertaining & a pool overtop the backyard shed shows that living here is quite a bit of fun.

Introducing the Rosengartens. Allison, Steve (sadly not pictured) & their 3 awesome kids. They live on Wall Street in a great late 80’s era house that has the most insane views of the inlet, the mountains & the Iron Workers Memorial Bridge.

When Allison & Steve purchased the house, they kept the light-filled layout the same but updated many elements of it adding colour, texture, personality & love.

Allison, a hair stylist, designed a relaxing but playful space on the lower level of the house to test product & experiment with styles. Steve, a bartender at one of the most frequented lounges downtown, makes sure the bar is always open at home.

Their family-friendly 4 bedroom abode, adorned with vintage & sentimental pieces, welcomes friends & neighbours year round.

Please meet Zoë - a local artist who uses touch & feel to create expressive works. Employing a variety of materials including linens, sheer fabrics, paper & clay, her objects & installations capture sensations of the body. She’s moved by a sense of intuitive purpose to bring new awareness to the self & to others.

Zoë creates from her in-house studio - the main floor of a 2-level home she shares with her partner & 2 kids.

The family snapped up this Vancouver Special in its original condition back when COVID was just a rumbling. @zoe_cry was able to see the magic in its structure & envision what it could be. With the help of @darcyjonesarchitects , through the dog days of the pandemic, this East Van house transformed into a modern, colour-forward, dynamic space. The open concept encourages connection, creativity, transformation & movement, the true essence of Zoë Kreye.

Hello Chessa.

Chessa is one half of a company called Twenty One Tonnes. They make thoughtfully crafted interior pieces fusing design with traditional craft. Lights & light shades, baskets & textiles are produced in collaboration with artisan partners around the world using indigenous materials collected in their communities.

Chessa lives in East Vancouver along with her partner Stephen, an environmental consultant, their two kids & sweet dog, Stilton. Their cozy, 2 floor, dark green bungalow is quietly tucked off a busy street in the Hastings Sunrise neighbourhood.

The interior space is tastefully decorated with decor from @twentyonetonnes mixed with items found locally & artifacts from her travels. When working, Chessa escapes to a home office downstairs filled with beautiful woven treasures. The outdoors are equally as charming as it is inside. A serene backyard oasis welcomes gatherings of family & friends away from the busyness of the traffic passing by.
