I have a whole podcast that is officially turning two years old in a few days and I have not been the best at pushing it online. I have told myself that these last few months of the year I’m going to do better 🥲 so…

I am introducing the Dear God Lettuce Pray podcast @deargodlettucepray

It is a Bible podcast BUT before you scroll… hear me out.

It’s not a VBS type of show. The DGLP podcast is for people who are tired of surface-level theology, churchy fillers, and weaponized Scripture. It’s for those that seek knowledge beyond the feel good gospel we see and hear these days.

It doesn’t matter what your faith is or whether or not you attend a church … as a matter of fact, most of my audience over the years are not traditional Christians. It’s individuals that desire to learn the historical and cultural context of what is in it.

I wanted to create a safe space for people to ask genuine questions and unpack Scripture together. I don’t know it all myself, but together we learn and work through it.

1. You were offered an opportunity elsewhere that’s better than your current job (better pay, better work environment, better benefits, etc)

2. Your reporting manager is not doing a good job at hiding the r@cism, I mean… the favoritism.

The job market sucks ! SOMEBODY PASS ME A SHIESTY MASK AND A GLOCK! No but seriously though…

I do not want to see another job application. These last two rejections crushed me so badly, because they were job opportunities within organizations that I am extremely passionate about. The emotional turmoil is just not worth it.

And for the longest, I’ve allowed the back to back rejection emails to shrink me and make me feel small in the professional space. Whether it’s the stupid AI systems or simply the lack of professionalism from hiring managers… I just know that I’ve had enough.

For years I was a full time business owner. But after experiencing my first pandemic and still just years of depression… I knew back in 2022 that it was imperative to supplement my income. Well, I’ve been applying since then and haven’t landed a real job.

I’ve tried constantly refining my resumes, networking events, recruitment firms, reaching out to people I know, nothing … and I am TIYURD. Over 4600 jobs in four years ? And nothing?? NO.

So I am done. I am done and I am going back to what I know. Opening my calendars. So please allow me to reintroduce myself.

I am Simone Santana. Born and raised in 38107. I have 15 years experience in marketing, operations, and development. I am a top performer, I build and execute strategies that gets the results you need.

Happy 901 Day to my city! Born and raised … straight out the NAWF. 38107 to be exact.

I know that there is so much going on in the Memphis community … some of which isn’t the best. But that doesn’t take away the good and the beauty of our city. We have been through it all… still going through it all… and STILL standing strong 💪

That and we have the best bbq and ain’t nobody checkin like somebody FROM Memphis. Know that 🤣
