Happy Birthday, Wingward!

This year has been an honest dream come true for us at Wingward - thank you all SO much for your support and attendance this past year through our ups & downs, our change & growth, and an overall incredible show of dedication & curiosity for collaborative singing.

Celebrate this milestone with us on December 11, 7p-10p, at Houghton Hall in Booth Studio where we are hosting a celebratory jam thats open to anyone!

Come for the familiar faces and bring a friend and show them what we’re all about <3

We don't usually do this but...what an UNBELIEVABLE evening with @rizumik 🙏
We laughed! We cried! We pretended to be puppets!
.
We'd like to extend huge thank yous to everyone for showing up and being so inspiringly fearless! And another huge thank you to Tiago for such supportive and uplifting facilitation.
.
Until we are blessed with more Tiago, keep an eye out for future events right here on IG, on our Eventbrite page, or with our email list - links in bio.

Hello! We’re Wingward Vocal Improvisation School! Whether you are new to vocal improvisation and curious to explore it further, or an experienced improviser interested in a gentle, ground-up approach to improvisation, we offer you a space to make music with other like-minded folks.

Our events generally fall into two categories: workshops and jams. At a workshop, we come together to explore concepts in vocal improvisation through group exercises, paired exercises, and singing games. We offer introductory “open-level” workshops, which anyone can attend, as well as more advanced workshops which build on those concepts.

Jams shift the focus from learning to doing, taking the concepts from the workshops and exploring how they work in improvising with other people. This mostly happens in small- and large-group singing games. Our jams are open to anyone who has been to an open-level workshop.

If any of this sounds interesting to you, great! The first step is to grab a ticket to an open-level workshop, available via Eventbrite (link above). If you’re curious to learn more, feel free to reach out to us.
