I met Jonny from Stir To Action last year at a conference panel on class and the arts after learning about their 21st Century Social Clubs scheme.

The 21st Century Social clubs programme since won 5 years of funding from National Lottery Solidarity Fund to do absolutely vital work regenerating cultural and political participation in mostly coastal communities like ours in the North East, through our sorely neglected traditional CIU clubs.

This year's conference is at Redhills in Durham. If you're a club member it's 30 quid.

Amongst other things, the discussion will be about reactivating the club ‘circuit’ for inclusive arts and culture (part of a whopper Arts Council bid I've been writing)

If you work in the culture biz in the NE prepare to receive a badgering. by @helloyoumustbedavid

This is Steve. On rainy days Steve likes to listen to country shuffle covers of Billy Bragg. Here he is listening to Between The Wars from the Mazers cassette tape.

Oh incidentally, today is the last chance to donate to Kickstarter at the link in bio. by @helloyoumustbedavid

As a cat, you chill out and reflect on life whilst listening to the song St Peters Broken Doorbell, first written was I was 22 and never released. From the upcoming Mazers EP, currently available on Kickstarter.

Hey sup

it's me Memento Mori, the Mus Musculus Reaper

The song you're listening to is called Sinead.

It is taken from the alleged record The Long Defeat, which is currently to be found with exceptionally modest funding target on Kickstarter in the link in the biography of this Instagram.

I'm told Sinead is about the act of freeing yourself from an early imprint.

Well hi
 it's me,
Death In The Form Of A Mouse.

A Small Man Exhausted is available on the Feeble Strength record The Long Defeat.

This song is apparently about working every hour to stay afloat for a long time and one day realising that you've become a different person as a result.

As part of an evidently quixotic attempt to release the record on vinyl, it is available at the Kickstarter link in this unrelated Instagram's bio.

Thanks!

A bit of banner porn from the Together march. If I'm honest I think things like this aren't really politically effective but I still love a good banner, the FBU ones are fantastic. There's an NEU one in there that has to be Ed Hall's work. Also can't beat a bit of Bob Crow on an RMT banner. Long live Bob RIP. by @helloyoumustbedavid

Hello folks,

I recently became half used / half spare.

Not sure how this happened, but to celebrate this event, I'm planning to release two records. I've started a Kickstarter to pre-order these here:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/feeblestrength/feeble-strength-the-long-defeat

I'd like to give you a new vinyl record named The Long Defeat, written under the name Feeble Strength.

And a cassette of covers and ancient O'Messy Life songs recorded in lockdown under the name 'Mazers'.

The Long Defeat includes the well known Feeble Strength hits After Work, Viva La Muerte and Sinead.

Mazers includes covers of Billy Bragg, Arthur Russell, The Highwaymen and some absolutely ancient O'Messy Life songs written in a bedsit in Manchester in the late noughts, re-recorded in lockdown.

thanks for your interest peoples!

Pleased to have contributed a bit of my history working with Tyneside Community Action Against Racism to New Statesman's investigation of UKIP (and now Reform)'s two decade history of assembling bigots, racists and cranks in the North East. These are the people this organisation tolerated and platformed for years, who will be taking over our councils come May. by @helloyoumustbedavid

I'm interviewed on the Drowned In Sound podcast this week.

I'm not sure Sean really knew what he was getting himself in for when he said 'do you want to pop into the studio and give some opinions on the arts'.

Sorry Sean, there's a reason nobody lets me do that. Thanks for having me though. by @helloyoumustbedavid
