On October 8, nearly 1,000 guests came together for Helping Hand Home’s 27th Annual Champions for Children Awards Luncheon to celebrate extraordinary individuals and organizations making a difference in our community. We were proud to recognize our Philanthropic Honorees, Susan and Gary Farmer, and Community Honorees, Amanda and Will Rivas, Eli Yorio, and @austinfc | @4atxfoundation, for their remarkable contributions and lasting impact in the lives of others. Featured speaker @thestoryofcia also shared her powerful journey through foster care and adoption, reminding us of the life-changing impact of having a circle of people who believe in you. Together, we surpassed our $150,000 in matching gift challenges and raised more than $1 MILLION to bring hope, healing, and brighter futures to the children and families we serve! This past Saturday, we had the privilege of welcoming foster care alumni, youth, advocates, and community members to Helping Hand Home for the Foster Care Youth & Alumni Lived Experience Panel, organized by @fostercommunityctx. 🫶⁠ ⁠ The panelists shared their unique journeys, insights, and perspectives, giving attendees the chance to hear directly from those who have experienced foster care firsthand. Guests also connected with local child welfare organizations and discovered ways to get involved and make a difference.⁠ ⁠ We are thankful to everyone who made this an afternoon of meaningful conversation, connection, and shared understanding. Their work includes foster care and adoption services, post adoption support, residential care and therapeutic services.
