“Feminine” has always felt claustrophobic to me.

It felt polished, controlled, determined from the outside. When I was younger, it was a self-destructive urge to fit in to these stereotypical conceptions of what feminine means.

I discovered quite late that it was never the search for feminine i was really supposed to strive for since that striving is empty of self-love.

It has nothing to do with being feminine really – it has something to do with being you – simple really..

I feel feminine when I am not expected to act or look a certain way.

As a kid I was never comfortable in pretty dresses or skirts. I would rather dress up as ninja turtles than as a princess.

I felt awkward around my femininity, I felt ashamed about my lust.

I thought femininity and lust had to look a certain way – a way I didn’t feel at home in.

Somehow the sporty vibe was a bridge for me between the authenticity of being me and the expression of feminine. For me, this expression existed in sporty and the world of movement.
