We are pleased to announce that two of our BSc. Mass Communication students, Henry Nwachukwu (400 level) and Blessing Bolaji (recent graduate & research intern), along with a student from Ghana's Unimac who worked on 'fair and unfair recruitment' in last year's cross-border UN-ILO migration mobility project, was awarded the prize for Best Research on Migration and Mobility at Uganda Christian University during the roll-out conference on Media, Migration and Mobility in Africa held in February 2026. Our students' submission was adjudged the best out of over 150 entries from across 20 African countries by a six-member panel of jurists chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of Livingstonia University of Malawi, Prof. Timothy Nyasulu. Prof. Ralph Akinfeleye of the University of Lagos, who was the keynote speaker at the conference and a member of the jury, received the award on our behalf and has presented it to the students. by @henree._

๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ“: ๐€ ๐๐ฎ๐ข๐ž๐ญ ๐˜๐ž๐š๐ซ!๐Ÿฅน From the start of 2025, God stayed with me. Even on days I doubted it. Even when I felt unsure and tired. This year didnโ€™t feel loud or exciting. It came with weight. With long days and short nights. With questions I didnโ€™t have answers to. I learned that strength isnโ€™t always obvious. Sometimes itโ€™s getting up when you donโ€™t feel ready. Sometimes itโ€™s showing up when everything in you wants to disappear. Sometimes itโ€™s simply staying. ๐ˆ ๐œ๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐! Not for attention. But because some things hurt more than I expected. I cried for what I lost, and for the parts of myself that changed along the way. ๐ˆ ๐“๐ซ๐ข๐ž๐! Even when it felt pointless. Even when progress was slow. Even when I wasnโ€™t sure anyone noticed. Trying became my way of holding on. There were moments I barely made it through. Times I felt unseen and unsure of myself. Surviving those moments taught me that survival alone can be enough. ๐ˆ ๐‹๐ž๐š๐ซ๐ง๐ž๐! To accept hard truths. That not everything works out when you want it to. That some people leave. That some prayers take time. Along the way, I began to understand myself better. I became more honest about my limits. More careful with my energy. More patient with my growth. By the end of 2025, Iโ€™m different. Not perfect. Just more aware. A little stronger. A little softer. This wasnโ€™t my best year.
