The Lord is good.

Why am I saying this? Because we experienced so much of His goodness at our Nashville ONE DAY.

It’s crazy how a whole bunch of people who have just met each other can instantly feel connected. There’s something so special about gathering together, making music, worshiping Jesus, and creating community.

Thank you to everyone who worked so hard to make this day possible. We are especially thankful for @herebedustin and @hopeucnashville for hosting us. Getting to hear about what God is doing with and through this church was incredible.

And thank you to all the writers who made the pilgrimage to Nashville. Our prayer is that the Lord continues to reveal Himself to you as you create swords to add to the armory.

Happy 21st Birthday, Drew!

Twenty-one years ago, your mom and I gave you the middle name David because we prayed that, at the center of who you are, you’d always be a worshiper. Looking at your life today, I can honestly say God answered that prayer.

It’s hard to describe you in one word. You’re just one of those people everyone loves being around. You’re the sweetest, kindest person I know.

I once heard your sister say she’s never seen you mad. I stopped and realized… I don’t think I have either. There are people who keep the peace, and then there are people who make peace. You’ve always been a peacemaker.

You’ve been gifted in so many ways. Guitar, piano, running video, leading worship… it seems like whatever you put your hand to, you do well. But if I’m honest, that’s not what makes me the proudest.

Talent may open doors, but your character is what makes people want to walk through life with you. That’s who you are.

The way you love people. The way you honor our family. The way you love Bella. The way you’ve always been an incredible son, brother, husband, and friend. That’s what stands out.

Your mom and I couldn’t be more thankful for the man you’ve become. We love you, we’re proud of you, and we’re excited to see what God has in front of you.

Happy 21st, buddy. Keep loving Jesus, keep leading people toward Him, and don’t ever lose that tender heart.

25 years.

How is that even possible?

It feels like yesterday we were holding you in our arms, and now we’re standing back in awe of the woman you’ve become.

Tonight around the table, we each chose one word to describe you.

My word for you was pure.

Mom’s was empathetic.

The more we thought about it, the more we realized those two words tell your story so well. You have a pure heart that genuinely loves Jesus, and an incredible ability to see people, feel what they feel, and love them where they are. In a world that can be cynical and self-focused, you’ve remained tender without being weak, compassionate without compromising, and full of faith without losing your joy.

We couldn’t be more proud, not just because of what you’ve accomplished, but because of who you are.

Our prayer is that this next year is marked by fresh adventure, deeper trust, unexpected favor, and a greater revelation of God’s love. May He continue opening doors that only He can open, deepen your influence, and remind you every day that your greatest calling is simply to walk closely with Him.

Happy 25th Birthday, Jordan.

You will always be one of God’s greatest gifts to us, and being your mom and dad is one of the greatest privileges of our lives.

To our kid with no limits…

Happy 16th Birthday, Asher.

You’ve never done anything halfway. Whether it’s sports, worship, hanging with friends, or chasing some new adventure, you are all in. Your energy and passion are contagious, and your joy has a way of lifting everyone around you.

One of our favorite things about this season of your life has been watching you grow in your relationship with Jesus. Your mom and I love your heart for worship, the passion you pursue Gods presence with, and watching your faith become real to you. Nothing makes us happier than seeing Jesus become the center of your life.

You make us laugh, you keep us moving, and you remind us that life is meant to be lived with excitement. We pray you never lose that sense of wonder.

As you turn 16, our prayer is that your passion would always be pointed toward the things that matter most. That your courage would keep growing, your character would become even stronger, and that God would use your life in ways you can’t imagine yet.

Keep loving people. Keep worshipping with all your heart. Keep chasing Jesus. Keep having fun. And never stop pushing past the limits.

Of all the titles I’ve been given in life, “Dad” is my favorite.

So grateful for these three who made me a father. Watching them become who God created them to be has been one of the greatest joys and honors of my life.

And Bella, while you may not have made me a father, you’ve made our family better. We’re so thankful for you and love having you as part of this crew.
