Lastly, this video has the correct audio that was beautifully mixed and mastered by @andrew_m_barlow . Distrokid added a weird mix on top of the original mix and we’re still trying to get that fixed. BUT THIS VIDEO AUDIO IS CORRECT 🙌🏻 🙌🏻

Songwriting became a passion when I surrendered my life to Jesus in 2007. These are three songs that started from meditating on scripture and then I finished them with my friends 🫶🏼

Worship leaders and songwriters: we can never underestimate the power of the word and the songs that come from that place.

1 Corinthians 2:1–5 (ESV)

“And I, when I came to you, brothers, did not come proclaiming to you the testimony of God with lofty speech or wisdom.

For I decided to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

so that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.”

I took this Scripture into a songwrite with @herebedustin and @mitchwongmusic after re-reading and praying it for months. When we sat down and the melodies came forth I remember feeling a fire in my bones to declare this scripture through song.

I’ve always wanted to share about this song. First of all @jesus_image is family and this song is fruit of what is being stewarded at that house!!!

One time when Chase and I were visiting Jesus Image I was reading this scripture before I went to bed. This portion of revelation always stirs my heart. I went to sleep and woke up from a dream singing the melody of this chorus. “Jesus died, but behold, He’s alive forevermore!!”

Revelation 1:17–19 (ESV):

“When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he laid his right hand on me, saying, ‘Fear not, I am the first and the last, and the living one.

I died, and behold I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of Death and Hades.

Write therefore the things that you have seen, those that are and those that are to take place after this.’”

I love that Jesus’ commission to His people is given to us in different ways throughout Scripture…! I remember thinking to myself one day “If someone had never heard the great commission and I could hand it to them in song form, what would I say?”

Go. Make disciples. Preach the Gospel. Be My witnesses.
