Preparing for my Netflix documentary where dressing casually to me means deliberately matching my outfit to the collab @toastique x @tealousy “ACT UP” smoothie at the first ever @coffeeandbass event.Fashion is on you but style is in you. Styling outfits is another way to creatively express yourself and I do sometimes take that way too seriously. I think about themes, colors, occasion type, weather, etc. when get ready for an event. Your clothing and how you decide how to present yourself is another form of creative expression. And what I love about it is that like any other art, the more time you dedicate to doing it, the better you will become at it. This summer, I look forward to future events like Coffee and Bass where I can express myself, connect with others, and still get home at a reasonable hour to rest up for the next day. by @heres_happyness

I’m constantly reminding myself that I am artist first and my own biggest critic second. It’s so easy to get caught up in the fact that you’re not doing what someone else is doing. And you’re not supposed to. You’re supposed to be doing what you’re doing and encouraging people to do the same. We create from a place unique to us so it should never be the exact same as someone else. So stop flinching and stopping yourself before you start. I was asked to be a referee because I’m very familiar with red flags 🚩 🚩 🚩 Had such a fun time reffing the Disney Channel Games for a very special birthday bb @junryl__ 4 teams with 9 players competed against each other using teamwork, strategy, and, athleticism for first place bragging rights. We all got to enjoy being outside all day not looking at our phones (no one had signal anyway) and celebrate the birthday boy. Shoutout to everyone who came out! A while back I had this idea for a dinner party where I would cater the menu to the people coming. I actually put that plan into action this past weekend with a menu catered to all my friends’ allergies, dietary restrictions and preferences.I spent a few weeks researching, testing and curating a menu that would not only represent me but the friendships and relationships I’ve cultivated over the past few years that have given me life, support, belief and inspiration. I barely have any documentation of the evening because everyone was so present with each other and enjoying the food and company. This was also a way to celebrate the launch of the @nowyouseapodcast that I just started last month. What better way to celebrate than with delicious food surrounded by the people who want to see you win. Mistakes were made. 😅As embarrassed as I am about how these turned out, I’m grateful I tested this recipe out.
