Thanksgiving feels a little different as I get older.

The older we get, the more we understand just how precious time really is. We begin to appreciate the moments we once took for granted, knowing that life changes, families change, and not everyone will always be around the table.

These days, I find myself appreciating the little things more. The familiar voices, the stories we’ve heard a hundred times, the laughter, the chaos, the food and simply having everyone together.

Life gets busy, and it’s easy to assume there will always be another Thanksgiving, another birthday, another opportunity to get together. But the reality is, we don’t know how many of those moments we have left.

Today, I’m especially grateful for my family, for the people who are still here, for the memories of those who aren’t, and for the opportunity to make more memories with the people I love.

So take the pictures, enjoy the conversations, hug your loved ones a little longer and don’t worry so much about everything being perfect.

Because years from now, it won’t be the perfect meal or the perfectly set table we’ll remember. It will be the people who were sitting around it.

Happy Thanksgiving. ❤️🍂 by @herminakhara

Such a fab evening at The Power of Her: Wealth, Wellbeing & What’s Possible, hosted by Better Not Bitter Society in partnership with Tory Burch.

I had no idea just how much Tory Burch does to support women beyond fashion. Through the Tory Burch Foundation, they’re helping women entrepreneurs access education, resources and opportunities to grow. It’s encouraging to see a brand use its platform and influence in this way.

We heard some incredible personal stories and had thoughtful conversations about ambition, confidence, knowing our worth and the expectations women continue to navigate.

One point I particularly appreciated was that we shouldn’t have to leave parts of ourselves behind to be taken seriously. Our backgrounds, cultures and life experiences are part of who we are and what we bring to the table.

And while we’ve made progress, there’s still much more to do. Supporting women isn’t just about encouraging them to succeed. It’s also about creating opportunities, opening doors and making sure we’re bringing others along with us.

Thank you to Mariat, Better Not Bitter Society, Tory Burch and all the wonderful panelists for bringing us together. ❤️

A great afternoon in Vancouver starting at Canada’s Most Admired Summit and ending by celebrating BIV’s Top 100 Fastest Growing Companies in BC.

There were some really interesting conversations about AI, culture, growth and what all of this means for leadership.

One theme that came through strongly was the importance of trust, critical thinking and judgment as AI becomes more embedded in how we work. We may have access to more information and technology than ever, but we still need leaders who know how to question what they’re seeing, make good decisions and build trust with the people around them.

It was a great way to end the day celebrating some of BC’s fastest growing companies and the people behind that growth.

A pretty great day to be part of Vancouver’s business community. by @herminakhara

30 years. ❤️

We’ve built a beautiful life, raised two amazing kids, and stood by each other through every season. It hasn’t always been perfect, but you’ve always been there for me, and I’m where I am today because of your love and support.

I’m forever grateful for our life together and every year by your side.

Still us. Always us. ❤️ @hotrodden by @herminakhara

What a week it has been and it’s not over yet!

Our international partners meeting brought together Odgers colleagues from across the world.

There was learning, laughter, honest conversation and a real generosity in the way people shared their experiences and perspectives.

Every market is different. That is what makes bringing those perspectives together so valuable.

Venice gave us an unforgettable setting, but the people made the week.

I’m wrapping up our meeting soon with new relationships, fresh ideas and an even stronger sense of the global firm I’m proud to be part of. taken in Ausonia Hungaria, five-star luxury hotel in Venice Lido by @herminakhara

One of my favourite programs is back.

CEOx1Day gives third and fourth-year university and college students a chance to see leadership up close and experience what a day in the life of a CEO actually looks like.

Applications are now open.

If you’re a student in my network, or know someone who should apply, please share this with them. You never know what one day of access, learning and connection might spark. @ceox1day_northamerica

A little late, but too special not to share. 🤍

Loved moderating The Rooms We Build for Delta Women’s Network with these three lovelies, Jennyfer Cassar, Megan Hughes and Trish Arato as our brilliant panelists.

Lisa Hoglund delivered a thoughtful keynote, Ashley Freeborn kept us moving as emcee with her zest and radiating energy, and it was pretty incredible to see so many people who have stepped forward to run for Delta Council in the room too.

So much community in one room.

Grateful to have been part of it. 🤍
