On this intersection of Krishna Janmashtami and Kāli Jayanti, there is an opportunity to reflect on the non-dual nature of divinity. Krishna is Kali. Kali is Krishna. The sweetness and longing evoked by the “all-attractive” one is a different aspect of the divine that is also the force of time that strips away all that is not. Jai Mata Kāli! Jai Shri Krishna!

Shakti Power Yoga is where my journey as a yoga teacher began, so it feels especially sweet to return this Friday to share heart opening music with some of my dearest friends. My good friend, brother, and teacher, @joeroccofalco , gifted me this Hanuman mala he found while praying in the Ganges during the Maha Khumbh Mela, a pilgrimage that celebrates the orbit of Jupiter.

Three years ago, Joe challenged me to learn the Hanuman Chalisa, and it has been a prayer and refuge I turn to everyday to keep my crazy mind at bay. Hanuman is the ultimate devotee of god, and will help remove your suffering and negative tendencies through prayer and devotion. If it is from the heart, whatever you pray and however you pray will help alleviate your suffering and for those around you. Praying to Hanuman is just one of the many paths that leads to liberation.

Ra Ma Da Sa - A mantra for universal healing.

Greetings community! We hope this invitation finds you well amidst all the challenges that our area has faced recently.

During this time, we’ve felt the tug to continue to gather and sing with our friends and loved ones, and support each other.

In that spirit we are having a community Kirtan at The Well in West Asheville this Saturday from 11am-12:30pm. The event is donation based with all proceeds going to our friends at The Well who could really use our support, as their local small business supports many local artists and has been so greatly impacted by the storm.

Suggested donation 5-20 dollars
