First festival performance, but it most certainly won’t be my last.

Transparency moment: the day I received the message asking if I would be open to performing with @jacross at Lollapalooza, I woke up with a feeling that I needed to dance again. Funny how God works, right?! So grateful to fall back in love with dance + doing it with an anointed and profound artist like Jac Ross.

It’s Merv’s GOLDEN Birthday, & of course we are in beautiful Morocco to celebrate you.

Your 31st birthday makes 13 birthdays, 2 golden birthdays, countless adventures, memories, countries, line dances, ideation sessions (LOL), moments of laughter & sisterhood together! Extremely grateful that no matter the distance, our bond remains.

This past year I witnessed you actively co-create the life you desire & you did it all with grace & fearlessness. I am confident you will do the same in this next year — this time with the lessons & wisdom you gained in year 30. I am claiming 31 will be a phenomenal year with rich experiences, health, wealth, love & peace.

Thank you for bringing me on this journey of this beautiful life of yours & happiest of birthdays to my Day 1, my sister, & best friend. I love you! by @heyimsyddd

Going into 31 being great because why not? 😏

Here’s to another year of life: seeking adventure, challenging myself, honoring the body I’ve been blessed with, and sharing every bit of it with the people I love 🫶🏾🥂

And a special shoutout to my man for curating a thoughtful + intentional birthday weekend 🥹 by @heyimsyddd

100 years of celebrating our innovation, creativity, tenacity, beauty & undeniable SWAG.

In honor of this BHM I wanted to pay homage to Black hair & fashion. Big hoops, gold jewelry, & waves (thank you Josephine Baker) — that’s all US. Don’t let the media tell it any differently.

Lately, I’ve been drawn to finger waves, a nearly forgotten style and skill. What I didn’t realize was that in wearing finger waves, I was honoring a legacy rooted in self-expression and resistance.

So often, “just a style” is actually a story. A form of resilience. This month and always, I’m grateful for the pioneers who shared their expression with the world as these styles remain iconic nearly a century later.

Happy Black History Month 💚❤️🖤

Did the dead hang before it became a challenge & outlasted Sosa’s rant 😂 Let me just add that carnival bars are built DIFFERENT!

I went skydiving today! 🤭✈️

I’ve been wanting to skydive for awhile now and today I finally got the opportunity to do it.

What a freeing & trusting experience.

✨In honor of barre classes starting again today!

Quietly, over the past year, I’ve been teaching both children’s Ballet and adult Barre classes at Morgan Park Sports Center. So what better way to celebrate my 30th than doing what I love: teaching and giving back.

A special shoutout to my family and friends for stepping out of their comfort zone and participating in Barre with me! 🥹🫶🏾

I’ll be sharing more about my barre journey soon, but in the meantime, if you’re interested in taking a class, visit the link in my bio!

Join me every Thursday at Morgan Park Sports Center from 6:15 PM - 7:00 PM! Classes are $8 for Chicago residents and $16 for non-residents. Spots are limited.
