✨ 8/17, Cheers to 40. ✨

The number 40 in the Bible is often associated with testing, preparation, transformation, and entering a new season. From Noah to Moses to Jesus, 40 marked a period of endurance before something new began.

So turning 40 today feels personal.

To be transparent, I am struggling with turning 40, because I'm getting older, I feel like I'm running out of time to accomplish many things that I've wanted to have accomplished by this age...but in the midst of my struggle, I try to remind myself that I’ve survived seasons that were supposed to take me out.

I can remember when doctors declared me gone, THREE different times in my life. Doctors were telling those that were close to me, those that loved me the most to "prepare for Sharnae's funeral" but God had the final say.

I’m still here. Still standing. Still growing. Still becoming.

Lupus may be part of my story, but it does not get to define the ending.

40 isn’t just a birthday. It’s a testimony. It’s proof that I made it through what tried to break me and I’m walking boldly into everything God has for me next.

Soooo, here’s to 40 years of grace, resilience, purpose, and LIFE. Let's see what this year holds!

Purple is always in season! 💜✨

Spent the day at the health fair at Easthaven Church of Christ representing the Memphis Lupus Support Group (@memphislupus ) sharing resources, raising awareness, and reminding our community that no one has to face lupus alone.

Every conversation, every smile, and every connection helps bring hope to someone who may be silently fighting an invisible illness. Thank you to everyone who stopped by our table!

Even with the thunderstorm, I had such an amazing speaking event today! 👏🏾💜

The room was filled with such lovely women that all wanted to teach and learn more about women's health.

My topic, of course, was lupus, and how to advocate for themselves in their doctor's appointments. Also had to remind them that there is life after lupus!😉💜

Special thanks to The Beauties and the Books bookclub for inviting me to speak. 💜

Happy Mother's Day, to my mom! The best to EVER do it!

I've got to admit it, raising a chronically ill child is not easy. Countless doctors and hospital visits, death scares, so much uncertainty that she's staying up losing sleep because she's praying and asking God to heal me every night, but my mom though!?!

She does it with strength, love, and dignity, never wavering her support and love for me even when times are hard. She is ready to fight over me, advocate for me, and show up during the times I feel exhausted.

Today, I celebrate a woman that has not only sacrificed so much time, money, and energy for me, but I'm truly thankful to have her in my corner and she deserves the world. I hope to one day give it to her.

Last night, I had the pleasure of spreading lupus awareness at Cordova High School. I always have an amazing time with the Wolf pack 🐺 and they always show up and out for this lupus fundraiser.

Special thanks to Coach Scales for always supporting @memphislupus and giving my organization the opportunity to make this city more knowledgeable about this cruel disease.
