Happy Birthday to my Nae💜

A true No Limit soldier graced by God. A giver with joy for wings. A laugh that will stop a baby from crying. A heart that can turn the tide of any curse. You are a blessing and I speak every blessing you've given right back at you. Enjoy your day, beautiful! I love you!

I once thought my backbone was just a cutesy collaborated fresh set of osseous tissue. It's really the amens, cackles, and wisdom of beautifully imperfect people as notification of the light within me. Here's Wednesday to the scattered web of souls that love me as I am where I am and where I'm going. All of you are gold.

With Love,

Mo✨️🫶🏾🦴

Meet Sharnae Smith!
Fundraising Chair

Sharnae Smith, diagnosed with Lupus in 2011, turned her personal battle into a mission to advocate for others affected by the disease.

As President and CEO of the Memphis Lupus Support Group, she leads efforts to provide local patients with vital tools and resources. Sharnae has lobbied Congress to secure funding for clinical trials focused on African American lupus patients in the Mid-South and continues to push for improved access to care, medication, and research. Her advocacy has earned recognition from President Joe Biden, the University of Memphis, Action News 5, and national organizations.

Sharnae remains committed to ensuring no lupus patient feels alone in their fight.

Happy #901Day

S|O to the city that taught me so much about life…

S|O to the city that made fall in love with its culture — the music, the barbecue, the “language”

S|O to the city that helped me start and build my career…

S|O to the city that made me a homeowner…

I am soooooo blessed to have spent such a large chunk of my life (middle school to mid 30’s) in Memphis.

I wasn’t born there, but hear me when I say, I’m from Memphis, Mane!!! 〽️〽️〽️

At the Black Health Matters Harlem Hills Summit at the historic Riverside Church, our community came together across generations for health equity. We learned in powerful health sessions, took advantage of on-site health screenings, and leaned into conversations that matter.

One highlight for me was the Clinical Research Corner. Seeing so much interest reminded me that representation in trials isn’t just important — it’s powerful.

Breaking down stigma and understanding that if we don’t seek out new solutions, we will continue to be behind in finding solutions for our community is why this work matters. Together, we’re breaking barriers and building health equity.

On this special day, we the patients and members of the Memphis Lupus Support Group want to take a moment to celebrate our President & CEO, Sharnae L. Smith.

Your tireless dedication, unwavering compassion, and fierce advocacy have touched all of our lives in ways words can hardly express. Through the hardest days and quiet victories, your leadership has been a steady light, reminding us that we are never alone in this journey.

You pour your heart into this organization, and it shows in every event, every resource, and every kind word of encouragement you share.

Thank you for standing up for us, fighting alongside us, and never giving up on what this group means, not just to the Memphis community, but to every individual who finds hope, comfort, and strength in your vision.

We are so grateful for you. We wish you joy, peace, and continued strength as you celebrate another year of life. May this birthday mark the beginning of many more years filled with good health, happiness, and the same boundless energy you so selflessly give to others.

Happy Birthday! We love and appreciate you more than words can say.

Across generations, our community came together at the historic Riverside Church to break down barriers in health, learning, connecting, and gaining tools to protect our well-being and the health of those we love.

From powerful health sessions to on-site health screenings, the day was filled with opportunities to take charge of our health. I was especially encouraged by the deep interest in clinical trial research—because representation matters in every step toward health equity.

This is just a glimpse of what’s to come. Stay tuned for next week’s inspiring message from thee Cynthia Bailey, you won’t want to miss it!

Even met the wonderful Sherry Mackey from Hallelujah 95.7 FM.

Thanks so much for inviting our organization to come and spread lupus awareness and talk about the resources we have for lupus patients in the city. We'll be back next year!💪🏾💜
