One of my favorite things to do is search for special shells and rocks.
While I was on the beach in Bali on a lil treasure hunt for cool earth, I had circling thoughts of:
Can you miss a moment?
Not a moment in the poetic sense, but a genuine window of opportunity. A conversation. An invitation. A chance encounter. A pull from your intuition that asks you to move. A ping of the heart.
Part of me believes what is truly meant for you cannot miss you and yet… the thought circled…
“The moment”, if you don’t reach for it when it’s right in front of you, the moment will never be exactly the same, the “would have been” outcome from reaching in that specific moment cannot be recreated....
If I didn’t reach down into the water the moment my heart pinged by a shimmery shell, the wave would come and wash it away... if I hesitated, the moment, (the shell) was gone.
Now, if I went for it and reached my hand down, the moment I felt a pull to a certain shell, even if the shell didn’t feel special to me once I picked it up, I still met the moment and had the experience of choice... to keep it or send it back to the sea.

Which had me wondering about life

How much of our path is destiny?
How much is choice, free will?
Do opportunities leave when we hesitate, or do they simply wash back in on another wave?
If what is meant for us cannot miss us, do we always arrive exactly where we’re meant to be?
Does life continuously present us with invitations, that keep circling us, waiting for us to finally say yes?

And maybe the magic isn’t in knowing an answer, maybe it’s just in being present enough to feel the pull when it arrives…
And then having the courage to reach for it

What can I say… my driving skills aren’t great, and Bali’s roads are organized chaos. Scootering here is a way of life, there aren’t a lot of cars and not a lot of walking.

Every Gojek (scooter uber) I took, I shared laughter and joy with, I think all the many journeys between point A and point B were some of my favorite moments… the feeling of freedom with the wind blowing in my hair and sweet shared laughter, the universal language 🤗

One of my favorite visual memories I captured in Cambodia 📸🇰🇭
I stood on this staircase, in the countryside of Siem Reap, in awe of this scene for awhile. Everything about it, the colors, the girls walking home from school, the bikes and tuk tuks passing, the way the shapes and layers of homes blend together… just everything about it had me mesmerized.
