Engineering and Robotics relay challenge. Students were challenged to increase the driving speed of their robots to pick up blocks, navigate through an obstacle course, place their block on the scoring podium and race back to the starting line so the next driver could enter the field. The relay also called for a bit of strategy. Groups would "plow" the blocks back to the scoring podiums to speed up the gathering and placing of the blocks. The first team to get all 8 blocks on the podium wins. Well done team Blue! by @hhs_techpathways

As we start a new year and a new group comes through the Tech Engineering Pathways program we are blessed with a new message. Violet Palmer, a connoisseur of concerts, left their mark at Hingham High in more ways than one. A remarkable young engineer who completed Woodworking, Power Technology, Automotive Engineering and Design, Engineering and Robotics, and various arts courses. Was also a captain of the Robotics Team (Team 5000, Hammerheads), a member of the girls golf team, and was awarded a Tech Engineering Pathways Certificate.

It was truly an honor being able to teach you Vi, the classes will not be the same without you. Maybe my hair will grow back. A piece of Vi's art sits just outside the auto shop in the Tech Engineering corner of Hingham High with a message to "Innovate and Create" which is the heart of the Tech Engineering Pathways. I want to thank you for your art and words of wisdom. Thank you for giving me the privilege of having you as a student these past 4 years. Your ideas, perseverance, and awesome sense of humor will take you more places than you know yet and I can't wait to hear about them. You will do wonderful things. I wish you the best of luck on your endeavors and please visit when you can. by @hhs_techpathways

It was an absolute pleasure over seeing the Tech Engineering Pathways Program last year. These two students worked hard diagnosing, troubleshooting, analyzing, taking over the shop, working late hours at the school, coming in on the weekends and it all paid off at the symposium last May. These two fine gents are off to college but before they left, they managed to take their Engineering teacher for a cruise around Hingham Harbor. Can't express how awesome it was to teach these future innovators. Can't wait to see how you rock the world. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of the show. Violet Palmer ‘25 spent the summer transforming the wall outside of the Hingham High School Technology Engineering auto-shop and wood-shop classrooms. Her design includes a tribute to Dr. Paul Pawlowski, K-12 Director of Technology Engineering, for his service of 27 years to HPS. Dr. P not only taught and oversaw the department, but also established the TRACES program, an off-site workshop for students to complete large-scale construction projects for the wider South Shore community. He changed countless students’ lives through his generosity, humility, talent, dedication, work ethic, and kindness. He retired in June at the end of the 2025 school year after 27 years.

When I asked Violet why she wanted to do this mural, she said it was because the Technology Engineering Pathways Program had transformed her high school career and she wanted to give back to the program in a way that other students would be aware of its benefits.

Thank you, Vi, for helping to raise awareness to trades, honoring Dr. P on behalf of us all, and best of luck as you begin your college journey.

Technology Engineering students presented their senior projects tonight at the Pathways Symposium. Technology Engineering Pathways teamed up with the Hingham Arts Pathway for a joint symposium. I am very proud of these engineers. by @hhs_techpathways
