Every beginner surfer does this 😅 buys the smallest board that fits in the car... then wonders why they can't catch a single wave.

Real talk: the board that fits your car is NOT the board that fits your surfing 🤙 Bigger board = more foam = more waves when you're learning. Your ego wants the short one. Your wave count wants the big one.

Learning to surf on the North Shore 🌺 my goal today was tiny, just remember where to look.

Surfing looks so simple until you’re out there trying to remember every tip at once 😅 Look the right way, make the turn, backhand... meanwhile my brain: 🫠 My coach Martin even wrote my one focus on the board so I couldn’t forget it.

If you started surfing this summer, this is your sign: keep showing up. Progress is small before it’s obvious 🤙

day 1 of moving into a surf house in Hawaii with total strangers 🌺 this is what a surf camp on the north shore is actually like:
7:00 am wake up
8:00 am surf analysis
8:30 - 11:00 surfing, coach will film you surfing
11:00 - 12:00 surf analysis (you get to watch your own surf videos)
12:00 - 2:00 pm lunch and siesta
2:30 pm - 6:00 pm surfing in the north shore
7:00 pm sunset on the beach
8:00 pm dinner time
9:00 watch surf videos
