β€œWorking with solid braddahs who do solid work.”πŸͺ¨ #hawaii #oahu #concretepumping #2026 #onthecomeup by @hi_concrete
Good things have a way of coming full circle. πŸ€™ A video that started with one simple conversation on a job site ended up reaching over 3 million people. I never expected that it would also lead to being featured on @hawaiinewsnow , and I’m truly grateful for the opportunity they gave me to share both my story and the message behind my page. Mahalo to Hawaii News Now for the shoutout and for giving me a platform to talk about what I’m trying to accomplish through this page. My goal has never just been to post construction videos, it’s to remind people that the aloha spirit is still alive here in HawaiΚ»i. Every job site, every conversation, and every person we meet has a story worth sharing. This experience reminded me that when you put genuine kindness and positivity into the world, it has a way of finding its way back to you. I hope these videos continue to encourage others to spread aloha, connect with one another, and recognize the hardworking people who help build our communities every day. This is just the beginning. πŸ€™πŸŒΊ #HawaiiNewsNow #construction #AlohaSpirit #SpreadAloha #Hawaii by @hi_concrete
Being a good operator isn’t just about how well you pump concrete. It’s about respecting the people and property around you. πŸ€™πŸ½πŸ’― Before our pour, uncle asked if we could make sure not to splash concrete on the fence. Simple request, but an important reminder: every jobsite matters. These jobs put food on the table for the people working there, so we should treat every project with care and respect. Protect the property, keep the area clean, communicate with the homeowners, and don’t leave a mess behind. The little things make a big difference. Treat every home like it’s your own, every customer like family, and every job as an opportunity to leave a good impression. 🀝🏽 Do everything with love, respect, and aloha. πŸ’™πŸ€™πŸ½ #ConcretePumping #RespectTheProperty #ConstructionLife #WorkWithAloha #QualityWork by @hi_concrete
The goal isn’t just to get the job done. It’s to get better every time you do it. πŸ’―πŸ€™πŸ½ While pumping concrete for this sidewalk, the masons were able to recognize the quality of our work and even mentioned how much we’ve been leveling up as a crew. Hearing that from the guys we’re working alongside means a lot because getting better every pour is something our crew takes pride in. Whether it’s improving our communication, controlling the flow of mud, positioning our hoses, or making the masons’ jobs easier, there’s always something we can improve on. A lot of what we know comes from our bosses, Sergio and Ricky, who have taken the time to teach us the right way to operate and approach each job. πŸ’― A good boss doesn’t just tell you what to do. A good boss teaches you why you’re doing it, how to do it safely, and how to execute the job as efficiently as possible. That’s what good leadership looks like. Passing down knowledge, correcting mistakes, leading by example, and helping the next generation become better operators. One thing I’ve learned is that experience doesn’t come from just showing up to work every day. It comes from paying attention, asking questions, learning from mistakes, and applying what you’ve been taught. Big mahalo to Sergio and Ricky for continuing to invest their knowledge and experience into our crew. 🀝🏽 Take pride in your work, respect the people who teach you, and never stop learning. The day you think you know everything is the day you stop growing. πŸ’ͺ🏽 #ConcretePumping #ConstructionLife #Leadership #SkilledTrades #Teamwork by @hi_concrete
This is the kind of leadership you don’t see every day, and it’s something I believe we need more of. πŸ™πŸ½πŸ€™πŸ½ While we were in the middle of a concrete pour at Kānehili Hawaiian Homestead, Uncle El John, a Native Hawaiian from Nānākuli, took a moment to pray over our crew and the work we were doing. I’ve worked on plenty of job sites, but moments like this really stand out to me. It reminds me that good leadership isn’t always about giving orders or getting the job done faster. Sometimes it’s about bringing people together, showing gratitude, and reminding everyone that we’re looking out for one another. Growing up in HawaiΚ»i, we’re taught the importance of aloha, respect, humility, and giving thanks. Prayer and gathering together are meaningful traditions in many of our Hawaiian families and communities. Taking a moment to acknowledge our blessings, our safety, and the people working alongside us is something worth carrying on. Little moments like this strengthen a crew. They build trust, unity, and a sense of purpose beyond just collecting a paycheck. Big mahalo to Uncle El John for showing us what leadership with aloha looks like. πŸ’™ At the end of the day, having work is a blessing, having good people around you is a blessing, and being able to return home safely is something we should never take for granted. Never get so busy making a living that you forget to give thanks for the life you’re living. πŸ™πŸ½πŸŒΊ #HawaiianHomestead #ConcretePumping #Leadership #Gratitude #Aloha by @hi_concrete
A good backup man can make a truck driver’s job a whole lot easier. πŸ€πŸ½πŸš› I was helping uncle Keawe reverse his cement truck down a narrow street before making a tight 90-degree turn around a telephone pole. Not the easiest maneuver, especially with a truck that size. Situations like this show how important communication, patience, and being aware of your surroundings are. As a spotter, your job is to help the driver safely navigate obstacles, maintain clear communication, and know when to stop if something doesn’t look right. One thing I’ve learned in concrete pumping is that building good relationships with cement truck drivers goes a long way. They’re the ones supplying us with the mud, and when you make their job easier, they remember that. That mutual respect and willingness to help can make future jobs run smoother and more efficiently. Big respect to uncle for his driving skills and for working together with us. Having experienced drivers who communicate and cooperate makes a huge difference on the job site. πŸ€™πŸ½ At the end of the day, it doesn’t matter if you’re a pumper, driver, mason, or contractor. We’re all part of the same team, and the better we work together, the easier everyone’s job becomes. πŸ’― Help others when you can, build good relationships, and always put safety first. #ConcretePumping #CementTruckDriver #Teamwork #ConstructionLife #Aloha by @hi_concrete
Sometimes it’s the little things in life that make the biggest difference. πŸ€™πŸ½πŸ’― Big mahalo to my friend Carlos, one of the contractors we work with, for gifting me a belt to hold my hammer while we’re pumping concrete. It might seem like something small, but little things like this can make your everyday work easier and more convenient. What means even more is knowing you have people around you who are looking out for you. That’s one thing I appreciate about working in this industry. Over time, the people you work with become more than just contractors, pumpers, or masons. You build friendships, trust, and relationships that go beyond the job site. Surround yourself with people who want to see you do better, and make sure you’re that same person for someone else. 🀝🏽 You don’t always need to do something big to make an impact. Sometimes a small gesture can go a long way. Mahalo, Carlos! It’s the little things that count. πŸ€™πŸ½ #ConcretePumping #ConstructionLife #Friendship #BuildRelationships #Aloha by @hi_concrete
The future of the trades starts with the younger generation being willing to learn. πŸ’ͺ🏽 Got to talk story with one of the youngest masons on the job, only 15 years old. It’s good seeing the younger generation out there learning, observing, staying humble, and understanding what hard work looks like. Nobody starts off knowing everything. You watch the experienced guys, ask questions, listen more than you talk, and slowly build your skills. Having the right attitude at a young age can take you a long way. πŸ€™πŸ½ Construction is one of those industries that will always be needed. Things get built, things break, and things have to be rebuilt. Learning a trade gives the next generation skills they can carry with them for life. But one of the biggest lessons is teamwork. Pumpers, masons, drivers, laborersβ€”we all depend on each other. You can be good at your individual job, but if you can’t communicate, work together, and get along with the people beside you, the whole job becomes harder. Teach the young ones. Respect the old-timers. Work hard, stay humble, and dont forget to laugh 🀣🀘🏽 #NextGeneration #ConcreteLife #SkilledTrades #Teamwork #ConstructionLife by @hi_concrete
Being a great pumper isn’t just about how well you pump, it’s also about how you leave the job when you’re done. πŸ’― The General Contractor made sure to remind us to be extra cautious and clean because we were working near a sewer and some annoyed homeowners. Carlos, the contractor who referred us for this job, was right there to vouch for us. On the last job we did for him in Kailua, we made sure to clean up properly and leave little to no extra concrete behind πŸ‘ŒπŸΌ. That’s something we take pride in. Anybody can show up, pump the mud, and leave, but contractors remember the crews that respect their property, protect the surrounding area, minimize waste, and clean up after themselves. Those little things build your reputation. And when someone can recommend you for another job because of the work you did on the last one, that’s when you know you’re doing something right. Do good work. Keep it clean. Respect the job site. Your last job can be what gets you the next one. πŸ”‘πŸ’― #ConcretePumping #CleanWork #ConstructionLife #ReputationMatters #ConcreteHawaii by @hi_concrete
Theres always one person who does a little more than what’s expected πŸ’ͺ🏽 Every job has that one worker who can jam, keep the work moving, and still have everybody laughing and Maiks is definitely one of those guys. Watching him do his finish work, you can tell he knows what he’s doing, but what makes guys like him even better to work with is the energy they bring to the job. He works hard, keeps the mood right, cracks jokes, and makes a long day feel a little easier. Skill matters, but so does attitude. When you’re working hard for hours, having someone around who brings good vibes while still getting the job done makes a difference for the whole crew. Every job site needs a Maiks. πŸ˜‚πŸ’― Work hard, jam when it’s time to jam, but don’t forget to have some fun doing it. #MasonLife #ConcreteLife #GoodVibes #ConstructionLife #Teamwork by @hi_concrete
You never know how far being a good person will carry your name. πŸ€™πŸ½ Got to talk story with another concrete pumper operator and owner of S&S pumping, Scotty who lives right in Hawaiian homestead down the road from me and has been pumping for over 15 years. He knew my dad back when my dad was pumping as well, and my dad would even send jobs his way when he could. That’s what I love about the concrete pumping industry here in HawaiΚ»i. It’s a small, tight-knit industry. There aren’t that many pumpers, so eventually everybody knows somebody. We might work for different companies, but when someone needs help, advice, or another pump for a job, people look out for each other. Hearing stories about my dad years later also reminds me that the way you treat people matters. Jobs come and go, companies change, and years passβ€”but people remember who helped them and how you treated them.πŸ’™ Now it’s our generation’s turn to keep that same aloha going. 🌺 Do good work, help people when you can, and build a name that people are happy to remember. πŸ’―πŸ€πŸ½ #ConcretePumping #ConcreteHawaii #TalkStory #Legacy #Aloha by @hi_concrete
Small industry, tight-knit community. πŸ€™πŸ½ That’s one thing I love about this industry. The masons know the pumpers, the pumpers know the drivers, the drivers know the masonsβ€”and after enough jobs together, everybody starts remembering each other. We might work for different companies and have different responsibilities, but when it’s time to pour, we’re all working toward the same goal. Those long days, tough pours, laughs, problems, and times we help each other are what build relationships. That’s why I believe in treating everybody on the job with respect. You never know when you’ll work together again, and the reputation you build follows you further than you think. πŸ’ Let’s keep building a positive community in the trades and show the next generation that this industry is about more than concrete and building things… it’s about the people behind it. πŸ’―πŸ€πŸ½ #ConcretePumping #ConcreteCommunity #ConstructionLife #NextGeneration #Aloha by @hi_concrete
