Long caption alert! I know we reflect at the end of this month this time of year but my reflection started a little early.

Dec 6th marked a year of finally exhaling, making hard decisions, sitting with myself and being loved on by so many incredible people in the process. It’s not a cute process. This shit is hard. This year has been hard. I’ve learned so much about the intersectionality of different griefs all at once. I’ve learned so much about myself and what makes me me. I’ve learned how to speak up and show up for little Alexis who needed and craved this type of protection I have for myself now. And in all of this I’m so grateful and so full all at once.

Adulting isn’t just highs and lows. It’s everything all at once, all the damn time LOL and navigating for that day/hour/minute what you are giving your attention to. What gets your emotions? What gets your time?

To my people, thank you. Literally picking me up when I’d rather drown than ask for help. When I’d rather suffer in silence than appear weak or less than. I let myself be all kinds of different levels of what I perceived as weak and I’m so much better because of it. I met me down there. So thank you for every visit, phone call, voice note, FaceTime date, get you out the house just because date, couch rot date, walk, and hug. It has healed me so so much! I love yall to the depths of me!❤️🙏🏾 @oliviadeano did her big one with this song and album 🥹 by @hi_imchocolate

9/15/24 I made one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life and loc’d my hair and I’ve truly loved every step of this journey!

A huge thank you to @dsstudiohsb for starting this beautiful journey and keeping me educated and encouraged with my hair every step of the way! She’s so sweet she got me these flowers after my appointment yesterday and I’m so grateful for her!

Happy 1 year anniversary to us! 🥰🥹🙏🏾🎉 by @hi_imchocolate
