Sostanza dei giorni miei ❤️
Buon compleanno amore mio ❤️ by @hibabd

Everyone has bad body image days. Everyone.

Days where you wake up feeling heavier, softer, more bloated. Days where clothes suddenly don’t sit the way you want them to. Days where you look in the mirror and somehow only see everything you wish was different.

And women’s bodies especially; They change constantly. Hormones. Our cycles. Stress. Sleep. Food. Digestion. Water retention. Life.

Don’t let anyone convince you that you’re supposed to look exactly the same every single day. You won’t. And you were never meant to.
But I think sometimes we become so obsessed with what our bodies look like that we completely forget what they actually do for us.

Your body is so much more than something that needs to look good in a picture.
Those arms let you carry the people you love.
Those legs take you places, let you run, walk, train, travel, dance.

That stomach you’re trying so hard to flatten lets you sit around a table and enjoy your mama’s food. It lets you experience dinners with friends, birthday cakes, new restaurants in new countries and all those little moments that make life feel like life.

Your body carries you through long days. It heals. It adapts. It gets stronger. It keeps showing up for you even on the days you don’t particularly like it.

And I know it’s easier said than done. I have those days too.
But on those days, I try to remind myself that this body was never put on this earth just to be looked at. It is here to LIVE.

So wake up grateful for your arms. Your legs. Your feet. Your stomach. Your heart beating without you having to ask it to. Your lungs filling themselves with air.

Be grateful that you get to move. That you get to eat. That you get to experience. That you get to be here.

You don’t have to look like a model every day.
You don’t even have to love what you see in the mirror every day.

But please, love the body looking back at you.
It is doing so much more for you than just trying to look good. 🤍 by @hibabd

Doubt me. It saves me the trouble of finding motivation. by @hibabd

Some work behind the work 🎥 by @hibabd

It’s that simple. 🤷‍♀️

Go after the life you want.
Life doesn’t reward the most talented or the most deserving. It rewards the most audacious. The boldest, the loudest, and the ones who take the most space and ask for what they want. by @hibabd

Here’s a story, a little longer than my usual captions:

20 kilos ago, when I first started sharing my training, people had a lot to say. I was told I was doing things wrong, that I wasn’t really an athlete, that I had no business posting fitness content on Instagram. I even remember comments saying that “nobody wanted to watch an overweight person train.”

And maybe they didn’t. But I did.

I cared about the person I was trying to become, even when there was absolutely no proof yet that I would become her. So I kept showing up. I kept training, kept learning, kept getting stronger, kept posting through the days when the progress wasn’t obvious, when nobody was impressed, and when it would have been much easier to disappear and come back only once I had a transformation worth showing.

Fast forward 20 kilos, and suddenly I hear, “You’re so lucky.” “Mashallah, how did you do it?” And I always find that funny, because the part that looks like luck now is made up of hundreds of moments that didn’t feel lucky at all.

The truth is, people find it much easier to believe in you once there’s something to believe in. Once they can see the result. Once the story makes sense looking backwards.

Moral of the story: No one roots for you until everyone roots for you. So for a while, learn to root for yourself. ❤️ by @hibabd

One of the most soulful experiences of our lives: The Japanese Tea Ceremony. 🎎

The host started with explaining “Ichigo Ichie 一期一会” which translates to: One time, one meeting”. A japanese philosophy to remind you that each encounter in your life happens only once, and should be experienced with complete presence.

The Japanese tea ceremony is a world away from the alo-pilates-matcha culture we know today. It’s not really about the tea at all. It’s a ritual of slowing down, grounding yourself, and being entirely present in the moment.

Samurai are said to have practiced tea before battle 🤷‍♀️ by @hibabd
