Proud to support #BackBritishFarming Day🐄🌾🍇🇬🇧

When you think of British farming, vineyards might not be the first thing that spring to mind. 🍇

But farming is constantly evolving — and for many farms, diversification has become an important part of creating a sustainable future for the next generation. 🚜

High Cayton Vineyard is our own example of just that. Planted as part of our family farm here in North Yorkshire, our 1,500 vines sit alongside a much more traditional farming landscape of livestock and arable production. 🐮🌾

Today is about recognising the people at the heart of British farming. 🇬🇧 Through unpredictable seasons, challenging harvests and everything else the countryside throws their way, farmers continue to work tirelessly to put food on our tables and care for our countryside. 👩🏼‍🌾🌦️

So today, a huge thank you to British farmers for everything they do — and to everyone who supports them by buying British, shopping locally and choosing seasonal produce. 🇬🇧

SOLARIS HARVEST 2026 🍇

And just like that… our second harvest is underway!! 🥹🍇🥂

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came along to help us pick our Solaris on Saturday morning! We really couldn’t have done it without you all. 🤍

Our grapes are at the winery, where the next chapter of our 2026 Solaris begins… 🍾✨ Fingers crossed all that hard work turns into something very lovely!

🍇 HARVEST 2026 🍇

We’ve made it to one of the most exciting weekends in the vineyard calendar… our Solaris harvest! 🍾

This Saturday, 5th September 2026, we’ll be hand-picking our Solaris grapes at High Cayton! Harvest is such a special time as the grapes begin their journey towards becoming our next vintage. And, as ever, many hands make light work!🧤🍇🪏⏰🌞🍄

So, if you’re local to Harrogate and fancy spending Saturday morning amongst the vines, we’d absolutely love a few extra pairs of hands.

No vineyard experience required and all equipment provided — just come prepared for a morning in the vineyard and (hopefully 🤞🏼) a bit of Yorkshire sunshine. And, of course, there’ll be a couple of chilled bottles waiting in the vineyard so our harvest helpers can try the literal fruits of their labour 😉🥂🍾

If you can’t make it this weekend, don’t worry — our Bacchus will be having its turn in a couple of weeks, so there’ll be another chance to get involved! 🌱🍇

The Movement Edit x High Cayton Vineyard

Yesterday, Lauren and myself had one the most incredible mornings we could have wished for.

Our little venture The Movement Edit went to a whole new level holding its second event in the most beautiful location @highcayton.

We are honestly overwhelmed with the turn up and these events just keep getting better and better.

We LOVE our community 💕

We’re so excited to be opening the vineyard gates for our very first time, to host a Vineyard Wellness Retreat, in collaboration with Lauren & Emily from Let’s Move Coaching.

Spend your Sunday morning surrounded by the Yorkshire countryside and enjoy:
✨ Power Pilates amongst the vines with Emily
🧘 A calming yoga flow with Lauren
🍷 Guided wine tasting & canapés with Kathryn

You’ll also have plenty of time to wander through the vines, soak up the views and enjoy a slower pace with a lovely group of people.

🍇 High Cayton at the Great Yorkshire Show!

This week marks another exciting milestone for us as High Cayton Wine makes its debut at the Great Yorkshire Show.

We’re delighted to be asked to join the Carter Jonas team on Stand 197, where we’ll be showcasing and offering tastings of our very first vintage of English wine (made from grapes grown only 5 miles from the Yorkshire Showground)!

If you’re visiting the show, we’d love for you to stop by and discover a little more about High Cayton while sampling our 2025 Solaris and 2025 Bacchus wines!

Carter Jonas will be hosting a series of talks including a wine tasting after each session:
📅 Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th
🕥 10:30am & 3:00pm

I will be on the stand Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday.

Spend the sunniest Saturday morning in the vineyard with me and my mum. 🌿🍇

Today we’re tucking the vines in between the foliage wires to create a neat, tidy hedge-like canopy. This helps keep the vines growing upright and allows the mower and sprayer to pass safely down each row without damaging the new growth. 🚜 It also improves airflow and sunlight through the canopy, helping the grapes ripen evenly over the coming months.

Friends, neighbours, visitors and man’s best friends grouped together this morning for the first harvest of grapes at our talented friends @highcayton High Cayton Vineyard! We wait with anticipation to taste the fruits of their labour (Kathryn, Amanda, Andrew, Angus & Will) -when a new delicious Solaris and Bacchus wine will be born in North Yorkshire!
