@stoldrag World Champion @wildweststeve makes a high-speed pass in the Wild West Aircraft / @justaircraftllc Highlander “Yeehaw 8.” ✈️💨

This machine is powered by a turbo-charged @yamahamotorusa Sidewinder snowmobile engine, producing 400+ horsepower and delivering extreme power-to-weight performance, the ideal machine for STOL Drag.

4,000 nautical miles, sixteen states, three weeks… all in my Husky to line up on a dry lake bed in the high Sierras and drag race airplanes.

Last month I finally checked a long-term goal off my list and flew my Husky across North America to compete in STOL Drag—an event that blends precision flying, energy management, and a whole lot of dust.

From passing certification to racing alongside some incredible pilots, it was an experience I’ll never forget.

Part 2 is coming—there’s a lot more to share.

If you pay close attention you’ll notice three Canadian girls racing in this video 😏

My head was not in the game for filming that day so cameras were dying left right and center but you get the idea.

Some behind the scenes racing my Canadian sisters .

Despite the many challenges this year at High Sierra Fly In, we all rose above them together. This event represents more than just aviation—it’s grit, community, and the kind of passion that keeps you coming back even when the dust, wind, and RAIN tries to chase you away. See you all next year!

CubCrafters at High Sierra Fly-In 🏜️✈️

Even after the great flood of 2025, the lakebed dried out and #STOLDrag could continue! 💪

Four ambitious CubCrafters pilots took to the course: two first-timers, one novice, and one senior competitor. It was incredible watching the rookies get coached by the legendary Kevin Quinn @stolpilot during training rounds. 🙌

All four qualified, gained tons of experience, and had a blast doing it! 🔥

Here’s to the next @highsierraflyin — where the goal is to make backcountry pilots better!
