Appreciation post for my entire @shamacycles race team on being so supportive & embracing from the start.

@sannaonthebike thank you for your leadership and efforts to making all the magic unfold. Who knew a quick zoom meeting could be so valuable before a race?! And to @coachmeganashley for always lighting up a spark in my heart when needed most.

I went out to race TEXAS STATE ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIPS and when my legs didn’t respond to the hill attack @ewinkler71 unleashed, it was natural instinct to fall back and work for my teammate @cjohannaperez who tucked in & blindly trusted my wheel and fought to snag 🥈 place for her category 🏆. It makes my heart incredibly happy to know that I was able to contribute in such a positive way. Golden seal to my 2026 race season!

Women who move for clarity, calm, and emotional regulation stay committed far longer than those driven only by appearance. Because when movement steadies your mind and gives you peace, you don’t walk away.

I proudly showed up to every Memorial Park Crit Race, my 2nd year racing, 1st year as a SHAMETTE ❤️‍🔥so happy @shamacycleswomen took a gamble on me because I love this circle of women & I’m obsessed with my team suit. Loved sharing the course with such strong women!

Memorial Crit Race Week #1 NEW YEAR, SAME HUSTLE! Women’s field had 17 racers, I crossed 8th place after pulling the peloton for the last 2 laps into the sprint finish. I get such a thrill doing that! WOWZAAAA! I went for the 1 thing that scares & excited me the most, crit raced! 2nd year at Bear Creek, this time representing @shamacycles and GOD continues to play favorites with me because I not only had a blast working for my teammates, but somehow also managed to PODIUM 🏆 THE SEASON 3rd place women’s Cat 3/4. Matter of fact, @shamacycleswomen snatched 2 out of the 3 podium spots! @erikasportela you’re our CRIT QUEEN and dominated every race you showed up to! ❤️‍🔥 @_velo_vixen_ your sportsmanship is unmatched and we came up in this together, look at us now. 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 @t9erdancr the season felt incomplete finishing without you, anxiously awaiting for you to return and join us for @memorialparkcrit 🫶🏼 @philipshama @sannaonthebike @coachmeganashley and crew THANK YOU FOR taking a chance with me and taking me under your wing. @laprimaveratx my official 1st road race this year. What a great experience! 4,400+ ft elevation wasn’t something I had trained for and definitely had me questioning my life decisions. It was a 2 day race in Lago Vista Austin, Tx. Day #1 felt so painful, I almost went home. So happy for my village of supporters that spoke life into me ahead of the race and convinced me to stay and just finish what I had started (@_velo_vixen_ @leandrablann @eliavalos1 @coachmeganashley @vskinnerjr ) 🙏🏼 A podium finish only 4 months after my road accident was more than I could have ever expected and just so grateful for the love & support received. 🙌🏻@craddock_roofing_race_team taken in Lago Vista, Texas by @hildaruns

GALVESTON MARATHON (3rd year) #13th 26.2 NEW PR 🙌🏻 1st PLACE AGE GROUP! It was PR or ER 🤪 So grateful considering I was in crutches only 3 months before this race. Double down on YOU always, never know what can happen. THANK YOU to everyone who believed in me, and showered me with love while I was down. You uplifted me! She comes along the seawall with the morning sun at her back and the salt air in her lungs, smiling as though the miles were a private conversation only she and the road could hear. Two fingers raised to the sky, not in triumph alone but in quiet testimony that she has endured, persisted, arrived.

The bib flutters. The wind keeps its counsel. Her stride holds steady, sure, and light, as if each step were placed with care upon the edge of a new day.

Today, @hildaruns did more than run a marathon.

She claimed her place in it.

First in her age group. Congratulations Hilda!

@chevronhoustonmarathon 5th year (12th Marathon) God’s gift! Only 11 weeks post road accident. Eternally grateful for experiencing so much love and support leading into this run. No PR but surprisingly not my slowest 26.2 and that’s my take away. Always double down on YOURSELF & never be afraid to take space in this world, there’s room for all of us. by @hildaruns

And then there was @coachandy30k only 6 weeks from my road accident and the legs only gave me 9 miles out of the 18 I needed to run. My official 1st DNF 💔 humbling experience. Needless to say, I’m nervous about running @chevronhoustonmarathon Sunday! Coming in untrained, reaching that finish line is questionable, but I wouldn’t miss it for anything.
