You who know what love is... see if I have in my heart ❤️

Answer: YES!! Feeling all of the love❣️

💖Much love to @daeguoperahouse who made this production of Le nozze di Figaro possible. Truly the most kind hearted and thoughtful team - we were well taken care of! It was such an honor to sing on your gorgeous stage!

💜Love to my alma mater Western University, which I proudly represented in this show. So grateful for the recommendation and the support of Dean Michael Kim and Dr. Sophie Roland to take part in this project. Sophie @rolandluti helped me switch to mezzo-soprano in 2019 and helped me build a solid vocal foundation. This move changed the course of my career dramatically and I'm forever grateful 🙏 @westernumusic

🩵Love/hate to Mozart. Your music is so perfect and beautiful. It truly highlights vocal flaws like no other. I'm definitely a better singer after tackling this role.

🩷Love to the cast and crew. What a beautiful bunch. So fun to work with people from all around the world and build something beautiful together.

💙Love for the beautiful and vibrant Korea. I had such an amazing time exploring and taking in the rich culture.

💘And of course, so much love for Cherubino. There's a reason why everyone falls for him! A cutie who can write a catchy ditty - he woulda been the next Justin Bieber or K-pop idol if he was born in the 21st c.

Today, Saturday April 18th at 7:30pm EST collaborative pianist, Dan Luong and I will be performing a contemporary music recital at The Echardt-Grammaté Competition exploring what it means to have a voice in the world. There will be a free Livestream of the event and you are invited to watch:

https://www.e-gre.ca/watch

The voice, through its many expressions, song, language, storytelling, prayer, emotional, intellectual, and cultural expression, and even through the act of having a simple conversation, is a powerful agent of change and it can transform the world. Music, especially that of the contemporary era, plays an important role in the change that we wish to voice and see in the world.

We aren't allowed to speak at this event, but here is a link for my program notes and translations for context:

Hope to see you there 🤗 😺❤️ by @hillarytufford

Macina Competition memories from last weekend ✨️

Sang my lil heart out. I was so grateful to walk away with a grand prize 🙏🥉 Thank you so very much @torontocityopera and sponsors: Sandra and Henry Tang for making this event possible 🙏 It was such a beautiful day, with so many beautiful, beautiful voices.

Opera is so weird, and marvelous, and stunningly, stunningly beautiful. Forever obsessed and dedicated to the craft ❤️

@hillarytufford = “a scene stealer” 👀🎉

Great review in @operacanada of her performance in CITY WORKERS IN LOVE by Neil Weisensel / Michael Cavanagh. Hillary played the role of Mrs. Demers. The performance was Jan 30 at the Paul Davenport Theatre at @westernuniversity.

The evil, embittered, (maybe just a little heartbroken) Mrs. Demers, "City Workers in Love." ❤️💔

Every show is special, but it was particularly special to be in this production of "City Workers in Love," to honour the life and work of Michael Cavanagh. Michael directed the very first opera that I sang in (Margo in The Merry Widow @westernumusic ). I was very privileged to have the opportunity to learn acting techniques from him later on in my studies. No matter the phase of my development, he was always encouraging and kind and I am so grateful that he was part of my journey 💜 Lots of laughs and silliness during the creation of this project - I'm sure Michael would have just loved that!
