I was too impatient to sit on this one. Here it is: the cover of Black Circuit: Thread 72, Book One.

Eight years this story lived in my head. This week it got a face.

Twenty years coaching with these tools and the part that gets me is how little time they need. A few seconds mid-interval. That's your inner coach working.

Green Supercharger is free. Link in bio.

No app. No device. No AI. Just your eyes, your brain, and what's already around you.

Eight colors. Eight mental performance tools. Open today.

Color Flow is the system for reading what's around you. The Color Flow Visualization Pack is for activating those states on demand — eleven audio tracks, available inside Color Flow at checkout or as a standalone if that's what fits.

I loved living in Switzerland. But I had this huge creative project I wanted to bring to life, and I could never make it happen there with the cost of living like a gun to my head. Moving to Thailand was about a lot of things. One of the biggest was this: a beautiful place with a lower cost of living, ideally suited for writing. Every day here is a writing day.
That project is my first novel, Black Circuit: Thread 72. The first chapters are free to read. Link in bio. by @hillseeker

The joy of satisfaction does not pay the bills, but it sure feels good.
When I filmed this, I had two chapters to go, after eight months working full-time as an author on a book I hadn't sold yet. No advance. No idea what income it will generate eventually. It brought so much joy to my life to finally focus on this project and get it done.
It's finished now. Black Circuit: Thread 72 is 38 chapters. The first chapters are free to read. Link in bio. by @hillseeker

The morning before I filmed this, I transcribed a whole chapter and had some really good ideas. More importantly, Josie caught a big crab and threw it on me. I think it was a gift. She got a lot of joy out of it. So we went back to try to repeat it. No creative ideas yet that morning. Maybe something happens. That's also the fun of it. Josie had a big hole going. by @hillseeker

My dog, Josie, wakes me up at 3:30 every morning. It's driving me crazy. The beach walk is two hours away and she is already excited for it. Or maybe she has watched me get up early to write so many times that she thinks this is how it's supposed to work. It's like a built-in snooze with her. I pet her and she gives up for a few minutes. Then she's back. by @hillseeker

A financial analyst wakes up on a long-haul flight from Singapore to Zurich, and everyone around her is unconscious. That's how Black Circuit: Thread 72 opens. A survival mystery in a contained space that doesn't stay there. It grows into an international thriller. Dark Matter meets Squid Game.
Every early reader tells me the same thing: they had no idea where it was going. The full book comes out in January.
I share the whole build over on @jsgrantauthor. The first chapters are free now: jsgrantauthor.com/start72

I'm reading you sections of the book. This one: the handset by the cockpit door, the call for help, and her own voice coming back through the cabin speakers. First chapter of Black Circuit: Thread 72.
All the passages so far, read aloud and free: jsgrantauthor.com/passages

It's done. I finished my first novel. Black Circuit: Thread 72, 38 chapters, a promise I made to my mom eight years ago.
She has read every chapter as I wrote them, so this was her last one. She gets to read the ending. Most people won't see it until the book comes out in January.
I share the whole build over on @jsgrantauthor. If you want to follow the story from here, that's where it lives.

When I'm inside writing all day, it's easy to forget where I actually live.

So at night I head out and walk. Bananas coming in on the tree. Me keeping one eye out for cobras and whatever else is moving around out there. And every time, I think: this is so cool. How did I forget?

I share more of this day-to-day from the island over on @jsgrantauthor, right alongside the build of the novel. If you like this side of it, that's where it lives.
