Happy Medal Monday! 🦀
13.1 miles ☑️

I’m still in a bit of disbelief. I told myself that I wanted to run a half marathon by my next birthday (April 2026). Fast forward to 6 months after making that promise to myself and here I am officially a half marathoner. The amount of emotions that I experienced throughout this race was truly incredible. I’m so grateful for my body being able to push through. 🥹

Going into this race, I knew it was going to be extremely tough for me as I’ve been battling an injury for over a month. All September I had to take time off my legs and only ran 13 miles the entire month. I didn’t feel as prepared as I had been for other races but I still wanted to show up for myself. I was told that maybe I should defer or step down to a race with less miles. However, I told myself I would complete this race, no matter what.

In my true fashion, I ran this race with a smile on my face (for most of it). Truly enjoying the sights and sounds of my city (also powered by my JBL speaker and a bomb playlist). I laughed, sang, cheered and danced my way to the finish line. Mile 2-7 was the real fight as I started experiencing pain with the 2nd mile. That pain never went away, and as I hit mile 8, both my calves cramped up bad. I still pushed through and I decided to turn the pain into positivity and gratefulness. I’m super grateful to my body for being able to push as much as I did. Looking ahead, I’m excited to fully recover, heal and stack more miles throughout the fall and winter season. Shoutout to @kaylahrsanti for running the last 5 miles me💕! We pushed each other to that finish. Cheers to all the runners, supporters, cheer squads, volunteers, run clubs (especially my favorite run club @blockblazersrunclub)! Next year, I’ll be back stronger than ever! What a beautiful day with some beautiful people in beautiful Baltimore🥂🔥💕🤩

Added bonus: I got to run this race on my mom’s birthday month 🥹🤍.

Happy Medal Monday🏅!
Charles St. 12 owes me NOTHING! While it was a pretty difficult race, I’m happy that I stuck it out and finished. Mile 1- 4 1/2 was a struggle as I was tingling and legs were hurting. But by mile 5, I started feeling amazing and got back in my groove. Mile 8, @blockblazersrunclub cheer squad gave me that extra motivation! Mile 11 was no joke. Huge thank you to @korriii_ 👯🏽 who stuck by my side and made sure I pushed to the end! To say, I had a blast is an understatement! I met so many inspiring people along the way and captured so many beautiful moments. I can’t stop thanking GOD for the opportunity to do what I love with friends turned family & for my body for being able to push everyday to the limit. I love the Baltimore running community! I love my city! Shoutout to everyone who cheered us on! Y’all made the miles so worth it! ❤️🔥 taken in Baltimore, Maryland by @hinayasmineali

First race in 8 months. First race of 2026. First race since my injury. I went from having complete weakness in my right arm and intense nerve pain to now being able to run a 10 miler. Huge shoutout to @aleeshakeyz who stayed with me the entire time🥹. Doctors weren’t going to clear me until this month to start running but God had other plans. I’m thankful. I’m grateful. For me, running's about sparking joy not just within myself, but in others too💛. Today's race was a great reminder of that. I rarely wear headphones, preferring to take in the sights, sounds, and conversations. I felt like a DJ, cheerleader, motivator, and friend, all rolled into one. What surprised me was when people told me I was their pacer 🥹 – it was humbling. Crossing the finish line wasn't the only goal; it was the connections I made, the kids' cheers, and knowing that running can inspire others that made it worthwhile. This is what it’s all about. 🥹✨ But it doesn’t hurt that I PR’d and beat my goal time 😅🔥. Special shoutout to @blockblazersrunclub for being the best run club and motivating me every step of the way ❤️‍🔥.
