I have to mention that this one does mad stuff the way I have or would—and she rarely sees the correlation! 😂 Many a ‘could-be ill advised’ move and plenty of decisions made of the heart. Certainly some brain is needed for calculation etc., but at some point you have to go ‘right brain’ to access some of the unscripted fun and fulfillment that this life has to offer.

You are nervous at Ralph’s, but ready to go abroad alone with no return ticket—twice! You are sensitive and empathetic, and can also prosaically cut to the bone without warning.

If you trust yourself half as much as ‘we’ trust you—you’ll continue to make strides that scare you and give you pause.

Happy big 25! The youngest in charge is a quarter century old! You don’t much know how things in life will go. If you’re lucky you have a belief or two and get to stand for something. I had similar conversations with 3 people this morning about the same thing. We were discussing our loved ones passing. I offered what I believe to be true in those exchanges. I believe the simple best way to honor those we have lost, is to be the best we can be while still here. In many cases, being the person our loved ones knew we can be.

Indirectly Donovan inspired me to be better on many levels. He didn’t do a lot of steering; he could lead by example and it would sometimes come up in conversations and I would continue learn how patient and sincere he was. He was not perfect in his practices and he knew it. He strived to be better and that’s the measure of a man.

Donovan was one of those friends who make you feel more confident about what you’re doing because he was not only rooting for you, but he also had a real belief in you.

Miss tf out you and your laugh. Cobweb Crew forever, even though we did get some burn our last 2 years. (Pratt 🏀, Flatbush, Brooklyn basketball community—stand up) Love you D.

Big thanks to everyone who pulled up to the Hi Tea on Juneteenth at the Playroom.

I believe we need to be together. I also believe that we need to continue to debrief and discuss issues that affect us all. No better way in my opinion, than with good food, people and space.

This is what I get for trying to participate in World Cup season 2026!

There is always a commentary underneath a Hi Post design. This is no different. The social climate in 1966 was thick with conflict and strife in places. In some other places were games created for opportunity and unity. We wanted to capture that lesser known, simpler dynamic of the game. The markings left off the ball for the tournament spoke to the intended integrity of the game. The trophy is another great story. I’ll let you further discover…
