Hello Friends!
Happiest of all things fall to you. How are you?

I pray this finds you well and that the change of the season is not only change happening outside and around you, but also in the places that God might be stirring inside you.

I always start off after a long time away by saying -
"I have missed you!" And It's so true!

I know you have lives full lives and I want to be mindful of how I can use this space and time with you. I hope for this to be a place to encourage, equip + give you pause to breathe.

I also know that by the time I try to get all the things in, you might be exhausted before the end. I hope you'll keep reading as I am excited to update and share with you.

What I've been up to "in a nutshell" -

Our last one graduated high school finishing us out at 31 consecutive years at the same school! CRAZY!

My daughter and I took a two-week trip to Italy + Greece.
AMAZING!

I launched my first YOU VERSION reading plan on the BIBLE APP and will be launching a second plan soon. WOOT!

From April to August, I took classes to become ordained (recognized + affirmed) as a leader + minister of the gospel.

In the midst of all the things, I moved three of our kids to three states in the three months. Lots of DRIVING!

I've been speaking, coaching, writing and continuing to sharpen my crafts to better serve

Add "everyday life" to it all and it's certainly been full. So, as I always say (to myself) - "One thing at a time. One day at a time."
Because what else is there?

There is ALWAYS something else. This time, that "something else" is our next RECHARGE Women's Event. This one, promises to be EVEN BETTER! We have new and exciting things we're adding.

I am grateful to be in your inbox and I LOVE IT when you reply.
Let me know how YOU are and how to pray for you.

And Ladies,
I CANNOT wait for you to JOIN US FOR
RECHARGE - Sofa Conversations with Denita!

It's going to be an incredible a night with women of all ages and stages of life coming together.

It's coming up fast.
Don't delay, act today!
See you soon!

Love + Grace + Blessings

I wrote it in a time of my own processing.
I pray it will minister to your hearts.

Several years ago, cancer took the life of my sister and left our family devastated. The heartbreak was unbearable. We were overwhelmed in our grief by what seemed like unanswered prayers.
Loss is real, and the agony from loss is certain. Through this four day plan, I pray you will come to trust God through your heartache and allow Him to sustain you.

FREE TO BE ME
This weekend will bring INDEPENDENCE DAY!

Did you know that
On July 4, 1776, 13 colonies declared their independence from England, leading to
form the
United States of America.

Since then, we have been a nation that celebrates the idea of LIBERTY, CITIZENSHIP and FREEDOM.

The founding fathers of this country had a dream and fought to break the cycle of bondage that kept them from being FREE.

To this day, we still celebrate their success of
achieving what was right in their eyes.

Today, their is a another fight for
LIBERTY, CITIZENSHIP, and FREEDOM
happening WITHIN our country.

But there are no celebrations to be had.

The fight for LIFE, LIBERTY and the
PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS
is still a daunting task for specific people.

Sadly, it's the people who's broken hearts
and spirits helped to build this country.

I wonder about all that the founding fathers considered
as they wrote their declaration of independence.

I wonder if they considered those people,
all people or just their people.

This weekend, as you celebrate
LIBERTY, CITIZENSHIP and FREEDOM -

I hope that you will take a minute to pray for those
who are still struggling to find their place in this country.

And to those still struggling, and for everyone else too,
here is a reminder from the true FOUNDING FATHER'S words

Philippians 3:20 -
But our CITIZENSHIP is in heaven, and from it
we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the
Spirit of the Lord is, there is FREEDOM.

Dear God,
I pray for our country. Show us YOUR WAYS LORD.
Thank you that you have made available CITIZENSHIP
and FREEDOM in YOU. And that our true citizenship
is in heaven.
In JESUS' name.

IM' SHOUTING FROM THE BALCONY

And let us consider how to spur on one another to love and good works,
Hebrews 10:24

Several years ago,
a friend gifted a group
of us with a book.

The book was both a delight and challenge.

The author writes about the gift and ministry of AFFIRMATION.

It asks -
Who are the people sitting in the balcony cheering you on?
Who are the people shouting words of encouragement to you?
Who are the people spurring you on to be all GOD has
created you to be?

In my own life, God has gifted me with a group of
women who do this very thing for me.

But one one of the most incredible balcony people
in my life, was my sister.

She constantly spoke words of life into my heart
and the hearts of so many others.

Sadly, this week marks seven years since
she we lost her to cancer.

Yes, it's a blessing to have or have had
anyone like this in your life.

But then, the better question becomes-

Who are YOU CHEERING on, ENCOURAGING
and SPURRING on to be all that God has
intended for them to be?

It's easy to look at HOW WE OURSELVES can be lifted up.
We all crave encouragement.

But the upside down way of JESUS is for us
to GIVE what we hope to RECEIVE.

Knowing that the blessing to give is
far greater than the blessing to receive.

Think about this today and every day -
Who you can be a BALCONY PERSON to?

Shouting words of encouragement, spurring
another on to all God has in store for them.

My hope, is that it starts with those God has placed closest to you (because they are often the hardest - true?)

And then,
EVERY other person that crosses your path each day.

Dear God!
Thank you for being our biggest encourager of all.
You shouted from the heavens with Jesus, your great
love for us.
In JESUS name.

DO YOU HAVE ASSURANCE?

Have you ever been
in a car accident?

What about a house fire? A flood?
Or a tree falling on your house?

Well, I've had my share.

Especially, the car thing - more than I think I'm going to let on right now.

Each vehicle with it's share of bumps and bruises.

Confession:
I once accidentally hit a little old man's
grocery cart and he fell over.

Worst day ever!! (Yes, he survived and forgave me too!)

When accidents happen, we wonder and hope
"Is this covered by my insurance?"

My husband and son are actually in this business,
so I see it often.

They work hard to help clients understand
the best coverages for their needs.

They present them with all the information they need to give them the best coverages possible.

In the end, it's the client's decision to accept
or decline coverages offered.

Some accept what's best,
others decline to cut corners or costs.

When this happens, they pay the price.

When the accident or tragedy occurs -
sadly, they don't always have the coverage they need.
`
Then what?

Then, there is the scramble to figure out
how to save what was lost.

This happens with us too -

We have the truth presented before us.
We have the truth of the message of hope in JESUS.

Jesus, is not only our "insurance policy,
he is all the ASSURANCE we need.

His blood covers everything and the best news -
NO deductible!

We don't have to scramble to to figure out
how to save what is lost.

Jesus has done it for us.

Revelation 1:5
....from Jesus Christ
...To him who loves us and has freed us
from our sins by his blood...

Dear Friends,
If we have paid attention to and accepted what he presents,
then we pay nothing and we are covered.

JESUS has already PAID THE PRICE
by the covering of His blood.

Question is -
Have you accepted what he has to offer
and are you covered?

Dear God,
Thank you for covering us with the blood of Jesus,
giving us all the assurance we need.
In JESUS' name.

PUT ON YOUR ARMOR
Not long ago,
I mentioned getting dressed
since COVID hit us.

Well, I'm back at it.
Venturing in and out of my closet,
trying on various things.

Only to find that some things just don't fit.

So, I decided I should get
rid of the things that don't fit.

And focus on the things that do fit.

There is something about the things that do fit,
they feel so much better.

The things I keep trying to fit into, well,
they only make me feel uncomfortable.

When I feel uncomfortable,
I don't walk in confidence.

My posture gets more slumped and
my head hangs a little lower.

I think my gut sticks out a bit more too (just saying)

Kinda reminds me of how we can walk around
the things in this life.

When things get uncomfortable,
our confidence gets shaky.

We feel unprotected and vulnerable.

Our posture slumps.
Our heads hang low.
We walk looking defeated.

I hate when my mind gets to this space.

Because the lack of confidence and unprotected
vulnerability make me a target.

I let my guard down and I'm unprepared for
whatever is about to come at me.

You wouldn't think clothes not fitting
could have such an impact - but it can.

That's why it matters to shift our focus on
what we really need to be wearing.

We are given truth on the ARMOR of God.

Ephesians 6:13-17
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand... to stand firm....having fastened on the belt of truth,....the breastplate of righteousness,...shoes for your feet,...the shield of faith,... the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

ARMOR has power to protect us.

ARMOR is designed that we have to
stand up tall to hold it on and in place.

Our heads can't hang low.
We aren't vulnerable.
We are protected.

We can walk in confidence when the things of this world come at us like flaming arrows.

So maybe it's ok some things in my closet don't fit,
making me uncomfortable.

I'll just put on my ARMOR
and walk tall in full confidence.

What about you?

Dear God,
Thank you for providing armor to protect us.
Help us to wear it with full confidence in you.
In JESUS' name.

KEEP FIGHTING
Hard to believe,
we are already into
the first parts of summer!

Half way through the year!

I have to say,
2020 into 2021 has been quite a DOOZY up to
this point!

You think?

How are you doing?

I don't know anyone that hasn't been under the
pressure of experiencing a plethora of trials and
tribulations over the past year or so.

I wanted to start off this week recognizing that if you
are still feeling the aftermath of this past year,
it's understandable.

There's been a lot of hurt, sadness, disappointment, frustration, and anger among many other emotions.
It's happened to us all.

My question is -
What are you doing about it?
Are you sitting in it or finding ways to move from it?

If you're sitting IN IT -
chances are, you are not in a good place.

Can I encourage you with some things you
can do to move from it?

•Talk to a trusted friend or seek professional counsel
•Commit to an activity that will increase positive movement •Pray and ask God to help you and show you what to do next.

He will.

And if you are someone who's found a way
to MOVE FROM IT -
then pick up someone and take them along with you.

We all need one another.
Few of us can navigate hard times on our own.

2 Timothy 4:7 I have fought the good fight,
I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

Keep fighting the good fight friends.
Keep making the effort to move from it, rather than sitting in it.

Remember others are in the fight too.

The fight to stay strong and healthy.
The fight to not let the things of this world overtake us.

Let this week be a new beginning to fight through
the second half of this year.

We have an opportunity to go into it,
making it better than the first half.

Dear God,
We have been challenged in many areas.
But we know God that all things begin and end with you!
In JESUS' name.

I DON'T REALLY LOVE DOGS! 🐶
Currently in our family,
there are 1.2.3.4.5.6. dogs.

Only 2 live w/ us now.
So, let me tell you about LEO?

He lives with us ALL the time, FULL TIME.

Leo is a miniature long haired dachshund.

EVERYONE LOVES LEO!
When I say everyone,
I mean EVERYONE!

Fact is -
I'm not that crazy about dogs
or ANY pet.😳

And while I have involuntarily helped
to raise 5 of the 6 dogs.

Leo, by the grace of goodness,
has survived my unwillingness.

Again being honest -
When we first got Leo, he drove me MAD!

I had a strong dislike for this
"miniature mess of mayhem"!

Leo did things that I didn't like.

He barked when I didn't want him to bark.
He messed when I wished he wouldn't mess.
He had a hard time being obedient when I needed him to obey.

And His nose got him into a lot of trouble.

Sometimes I yelled at Leo.
Ok, LOTS OF TIMES I yelled at Leo.
Many of those times, REALLY LOUD!

Other times, I was patient.
When I was patient,
Leo obeyed and did better.

It's been 3 years since we got Leo.
He is now a loving part of our family
w/ his big personality.

But, I had to go through serious
growing pains with Leo.

Many times I wanted to give up
and just get rid of him.

Now, our "miniature mess of mayhem" - makes me smile.

We ALL enjoy him.

Leo reminds me of what can happen
when we have patience and perseverance.

Once you get to the other side of the hard things in this life.
Believe that you can enjoy the end result.

JAMES 1:12
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial,...

Leo's a lucky dog. (Lucky I didn't kill 'em!🤣)

Some days I still wish he would do better.
But I continue to be patient and persevere.

I'm sure God feels the same way,
wishing I would do better.
Still, He's patient.

What about you?

What is the "Leo" you need
to persevere through?

Know there is hope on the other side.

Dear God, help us to be patient and to persevere in whatever trials come our way.
In JESUS' name

ARE YOU UNRECOGNIZABLE?
When was your last
class reunion?

I can think back to my 5 year reunion.

Such a long time ago!
And I think the only reunion I ever had.

But that's OK,
because after all these years,
it would be a bit akward at this point.

People I haven't seen for some time.
What if they didn't recognize me?

From scrawny teens to young adults to middle aged men and women.

Well - I'm sure you can imagine.

People change.
Some for the good and some not so good.

So maybe I'm OK with just that ONE class reunion.

But if you might be venturing into a class reunion
or another event anytime soon -

What If it's true?

What if the people you haven't seen for some time,
don't recognize you?

Would that be good?
Or
Would that be bad?

In the case of the "unidentified classmate" or "unidentified person", if you will.

My hope is that they DON'T recognize you.

Because I would like to think that over
all those years that have passed -

You are not the same person.
We are not the same people.

Hopefully we are people who have changed so much,
that we are unrecognizable.

Not just our outward appearance.
But our inward hearts.

Hopefully we are people so unrecognizable
because our words are now full of wisdom.

Hopefully we are people so unrecognizable
because our actions exude kindness

Hopefully we are now people who walk into a place
and fill it with hope, love and grace.

What if THESE are the things that make us unrecognizable?

Paul said in 2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation.
The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

You know, The old me was ok,
but the new me is definitely a better version.
At least I like to think so.

I have worked and asked and prayed so hard
for the Lord to transform me.

He can do that, you know?

And although I am still a huge work in progress -
There's hope for me.

And yes, there's hope for you too.

As a new creation in Christ.
The old is gone, the new has come.

So, maybe I wouldn't mind that class reunion after all!

Dear God,
We want to be transformed by you.
Help us to look different and reflect you.
In JESUS' name.
