Today is WORLD POSTCARD DAY. When I was a kid I collected postcards from anyone who would send them to me. As I got older I’d buy postcards wherever I traveled. These days it’s actually not easy to find postcards except for really populated tourist traps. I always get postcards of the art when I go to museums. Gift shops at attractions are my friend. And yes I will stop at garage sales and thrift stores and buy (reasonably priced) old postcards (the better if they have already been posted to someone). Yes, I have a group of about 20 people who regularly get postcards from me when I travel. And I do have some wonderful friends (Hi Jane!) who regularly send me postcards. I’m only mailing one postcard out today in honor of the day, I’ll prepare better next year…The photo is just a few cards from the top of my stash. I just went to Alcatraz, one is from a De Young exhibit, the others are thrift finds. What do I do with them all? Mail some out, use in my journals, swap with craft partners, and just enjoy them. And I swear I’ll join postcrossing soon!! #worldpostcardday #postcard by @hkydiva

I see an owl. Do you see an owl? This is the neighbors tree. I guess I never saw this when our big ole tree (may he rest in peace) had branches that distracted me from it. #tree #owl #pareidolia by @hkydiva

Ina Garten’s Scrambled Eggs Cacio E Pepe from the February/March 2025 issue of Food Network magazine. Of course I forgot to put the pepper IN the dish so it’s on top. Lots of protein. #scrambledeggs #eggs #inagartenrecipe #foodnetworkmagazine by @hkydiva

Today is NATIONAL S’MORES DAY. A S’more Brownie Sunday from Lazy Dog might do the trick. I did have a bite before the guys finished this off, but I didn’t have any of the ice cream. I’m of the mind that it doesn’t belong on this warm brownie and marshmallow #smores #smorebrowniesundae #lazydog #nationalsmoresday by @hkydiva
