Apologies to @kevin_kisner but for 99.9% of us golf is a hobby...or is it?

Bathroom rendering...

Now that the rezoning process is in the rearview mirror, we can focus on putting the finishing touches on our building design.

The renderings I've shared are highly conceptual, but we think they're fairly close to the vibe we're hoping to create. As I've said before we want people to feel welcome without making the place too precious. Finding little details that don't cost much, but make a lasting impact on your experience is the balance we're striving for.

Our ethos from day one has been to create a space where beginners and casual golfers feel immediately comfortable, but also include those subtle details more experienced golfers come to expect at higher-end facilities they might frequent.

We want to be everything to everyone without trying too hard...we're definitely getting closer to making this vision a reality. by @hobby.golfer

Big day yesterday as we staked out the pro shop footprint for the driving range project. Now we wait for our civil engineer to complete the development site plan...

T-minus 6 days until the final rezone vote from Jackson County...easily our most monumentous day in the evolution of this dream project.

As always, stay tuned for updates and keep the positive vibes high.

Vibes loading...

Y'all are going to LOVE the space we're building outside Athens, Ga.

It's open, it's welcoming, it's intentional...

Golf is and always will be the focus, but above all we want you to feel comfortable whenever you visit and we want you to feel at home. Building community and fostering advocacy starts with designing a place with a purpose.

So far, so good... by @hobby.golfer

👀 SNEAK PEEK 👀

In addition to the contractor hirings, site planning, and rezone application work we've completed so far this month, we've finalized the branding package for our driving range project.

We're not quite ready to share--and won't until we're fully rezoned, but get excited because we think we nailed it.

The team is working hard to start construction by the end of the year, but there's only so much we can control as we wait for Jackson County to determine our fate.

One thing's for sure: this property is perfect and our vision is clear

Situated just 15 minutes north of downtown Athens and 15 minutes southeast of Jefferson, we're excited to see this place take shape.

Rezone hearing on 9/24 so stay tuned as we keep chugging along... by @hobby.golfer

We drank, we ate, we cheered, we laughed, we golfed.

11 rounds on some of the most iconic golf courses in the world was supposed to be the most memorable part of this trip. But after spending two weeks in Scotland I think what I'll remember the most is the time off the golf course.

Driving cross country, exploring new towns, experiencing a Champions League match, Fringe Fest 😳, living like a local...

Oftentimes my vacation travel is condensed into long weekends. How can we get the most out of our 4-5 days away from normal life? This requires a sort of shot clock on the trip itself. I find myself looking towards the next stop or counting down the days we have left instead of being present in the moment.

On this trip I didn't have that pressure and it allowed me to fully absorb every second of every day. I allowed myself to get lost--not literally, only in the sense of time. I wasn't checking the clock or the calendar or an itinerary (other than tee times).

My hope is to bring this sense of freedom into future travel ventures, but also keep this mindset in my personal and professional life. Being present has always been a struggle for me. Always worried about what's coming instead of what's happening.

I couldn't be more refreshed and focused to make this golf project a reality.

I'm going to be fully present in all the little moments along the way (good and bad) to ensure I'm processing every detail and not concerning myself with things I can't control.

All focus is on the first rezone hearing on September 24th. Time is going to speed up. Stress will mount. Pressure builds.

Bring it on... by @hobby.golfer

Day five: Prestwick GC & Western Gailes

Wow.

Both of these courses were so different, but equally as memorable.

Prestwick felt like Tobacco Road crossed with North Berwick plus when you add in the history of the first Open venue with a number of original greens still intact it makes for a truly special experience.

Western Gailes has 8 holes along the coastline that are absolutely breathtaking. The sunny skies didn't hear either.

Epic final day of solo golf as my buddies arrive on Sunday and I take a tourist break tomorrow in Edinburgh. by @hobby.golfer
