2:30am lights out zzzz
3am kitchen crash: I find dog dish turned over, water from knocked-down vase of flowers pooling on counter top, and one sucked-clean nectarine pit on floor (I had three nectarines on windowsill to ripen - now there are only two)
4am armed w/a stiff poster tube, I search house - nothing - sit up in bed w/every light in house on, listening
5:20am huge crash in living room - I sneak in w/trusty poster tube and oh yes as I suspected it’s a dang teenage raccoon - knocking all my records off the shelf - and before I can film it, it runs upstairs and I let it
5:45am open the window at bottom of stairs and remove screen, install security cam
6:10am still zero sleep, pour some Penderyn whiskey for my nerves, send email to my pest control guys, and wait/hope for the juvie raccoon to let itself out of my house

Meanwhile, ancient Eddie Spaghetti creates his nightly blanket masterpiece and lies in it - his watchdog/critter-catching days behind him

went from 114 degrees in PHX to 45 degrees in Bend OR @rhiannongiddens @marychapincarpenter @mavisstaples @hurrayfortheriffraff all bad-ass women bravely and expertly performing in the chill (always a true joy to play @bendconcerts 🥰)

met darling booger bear @alancoxallen aka Don Dixon and fan-girled pretty hard (about @therealmartijonesdixon too ❤️‍🔥) thank you @typingtest for the hook-up 😘

back to Chicago to a new dentist (happy retirement, Dr. Vogel!) who somehow got my 1992 chewed-up gold crown glued back onto ol’ number 16 🦷👑
