Our trip to Florence, Italy for my brother’s wedding was 🤌🏼 🤌🏼🤌🏼 *chef’s kiss*! The weather was perfect. The food was amazing. The festivities….whew @jaim_ls & @matt_flow y’all definitely outdid yourselves! We didn’t know how the kids would do with the traveling but this trip definitely gave us the boost of confidence we needed to travel more as a family. The kids did SO well, and of course it also helped that we ate gelato everyday, multiple times a day. 🍨 Highly highly recommend traveling to Florence/Tuscany with a young family. 10/10! IT’S BEEN A WHILE IG GRID. But here’s a long one lol.

Wow. Finally turned 40. 🤯 I’ll admit, I have a hard time celebrating myself, and more so taking the time to remember and reflect on moments in life as they happen. I’m always like, great, that’s done...next! But after going through my photos from this past year alone, sheesh A LOT has happened. A lot of firsts not only for me, but for my kids and my family. In an effort to remember and reflect on these moments, I’m sharing SOME of them on IG mainly to remind myself to take the time to acknowledge and smell the flowers (while they’re still blooming).

> Moved to Georgia as a first time homeowner. (!!!) COVID also decided to give us a nice welcome-home gift.
> My dad retired from full-time ministry.
> Nora’s first day at her new school @weareforestschool.
> First girls/moms-only trip to Austin with friends that I grew up with since the 1st grade in Philly.
> Got my GA license; registered & voted as a GA resident.
> The kids first “Trunk or Treat” Halloween.
> Nora’s first tooth comes out. Tooth fairy rates went up y’all.
> First Webby win with the best team in the game (@teamepiphany & multicultural mktg team @streamonmax)
> Mylo’s first time stepping into a school environment.
> Halmunni dresses Nora in a hanbok to join her in class to talk about Korean culture.
> My first mammogram. Health is wealth.
> First “award” as a school parent. My overachievin’ self. lol
> First time at @bucees. Their chopped brisket is like that.
> First time witnessing my dad drink, for a sweet moment with @mrlawsmith and my brother @matt_flow. Mom did not approve. 😂
> Nora’s first time rollerskating @sparklesofsmyrna thanks to Mya’s birthday party (cc: @kriskross87)
> Mylo “crossing the bridge” to graduate from his toddler class.
> The kids first time at the movie theater, to watch @disneylittlemermaid
> And last but not least, the incredible surprise 40th birthday (early) celebration during MDW, where @mrlawsmith coordinated with my Philly girls to spend an epic weekend in ATL with ALL the kids & hubbies. S/O to the dads (@thebriankwak @chazertis @farmerchriskim) for holding it down while the mamas had a day off! 🥹 by @hojepoje

Happy Birthday to the best partner I could ever ask/pray for! Thank you for all the love and sacrifices you provide for our family…even on your actual birthday. 🥹 I choose every day to fall more and more in love with you and I thank God for ALL the blessings (and trials) we’ve received this past year. ❤️ As we put roots down, back in your hometown, I’m excited to witness and be a part of more full-circle moments for you! Love you!

A quick but momentous occasion for a trip back to NYC. Law’s (@supremestreet) debut solo art exhibition, #FreemanRevival: Inherited Past, curated by Dr. Ricco Wright is now showing at @bws.gallery until November 5. In Ricco’s words, “Law wanted to offer this as a way of saying thank you to his grandmother and grandfather. …what a beautiful blessing it is for him to honor his people. And to do it in such a way that shows his appreciation for their sacrifices in his life, while he makes sacrifices for his own children.” We love you Law and what an incredible way to share a part of your (his)tory. Had the best mama’s trip/getaway (my first) with ladies I’ve known since kindergarten. So thankful that after ALLLL these years we continue to do life together, as we navigate life as mothers, wives, sisters and daughters. This trip fed my soul in so many ways, and couldn’t have asked for a better city to do it in. This trip was also a just-turned-40 celebration for us, but for the record, ya girl still has one year left! 🙃

Most importantly, a special thank you to all our amazing husbands (@mrlawsmith @thebriankwak @chazertis @farmerchriskim) who held it down with the kids so the mamas could live it up and recharge! taken in Austin, Texas by @hojepoje

i feel like life is moving wayyyyy too fast these days. this month alone has been a whirlwind of emotions for me. so i’m taking a moment to document the highlights of (just) this month. I also hardly take the time to boast about my accomplishments, so I’m doing that too! so, May 2021 photo dump, here we go.

1. got fully vaccinated. thank you, God.
2. mylo turned 1 and had his first taste of sugar; well, kinda. since i felt guilty for not doing anything on his actual birthday i of course OD-ed and decided to bake his smash cake myself, but of course only after finding a recipe on pinterest for a (barely sweetened) banana pineapple smash cake. 🤦🏻‍♀️
3. ideated, pitched, got approval (from client), contracted talent, produced, edited and finalized HBO Max’s AAPI Heritage Month’s programming basically within 3 weeks. S/O to the entire team for the many sleepless nights to spotlight amazing AAPIs in the creative industry! take a peek by searching #SeeUsHBOMax.
4. in between time, also helped produce an IRL experience for press and influencers for the new iMac launch (new client alerttttt!!! yes, 🍎!!!) S/O to @colormecourtney for KILLIN the content (per usual).
5. ALSO. WON. A. WEBBY. this was the last activation I did before going on maternity leave last year. also. this was the event we did shortly after making the decision to cancel ALLLL the IRL promo plans we had for @insecurehbo S4 b/c u know, the pandemic.
6. so, our fridge decided to stop working. i know, first world problems. but when you have a toddler and a never-not-eating baby, it becomes a must-figure-out-solution-ASAP. and of course, service for the fridge wouldn’t be available until the end of the month. so, cooler we bought...and also gave us an excuse to buy a deep freezer.
7. but through it all, we took it as a sign to really take advantage of our mini getaway to a nearby beach, where I was able to unplug and be present with my family.

so grateful to be in a position to do all this, and thankful for my coworkers, friends, family & @mrlawsmith who keep me uplifted through it all. (WHEW. This is the longest post ever. 🤪) by @hojepoje

My parents just celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. FORTY YEARS. This Valentine’s Day, I find myself reflecting on their commitment to each other and all the known and unknown sacrifices they made to make my life better/easier. One good thing to come out of the pandemic is the increased time and close proximity we have to my parents. I know Nora and Mylo directly benefits from all this time with Halmunni and Harabuhjee. And of course, @mrlawsmith and I are taking notes. So thankful to have a partner who knows marriage takes hard work and prayer, but also lots of laughter. That’s a direct cue from my dad’s childlike heart that keeps both my parents young. I mean, look at them! ❤️🥰 (They’re both over 60, for the record.) by @hojepoje
