🤗What a day!🤗

On 9th April, we held our annual Renie Harp Competition here at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire — a day full of music, learning, and inspiration!

We were thrilled to welcome Alex Rider, who opened with a powerful lecture recital, "Henriette Renié: An Artist in Four Dimensions," before adjudicating the competition and leading an insightful masterclass packed with valuable feedback for our students.

Huge congratulations to our 2025 winner, Chloe Chousmer-Kerr! 🌟

So proud of all our harpists for embracing this opportunity to grow and reflect.

✨ A truly momentous performance! ✨
Earlier this term, our harp students took on Boulez’s 'Sur Incises'—a breathtaking masterpiece for three harps, three pianos, and percussion. This was a once-in-a-lifetime chance to perform one of the most electrifying and intricate works of contemporary music! ⚡️🎶

And the excitement isn’t over… Boulez 100 Insight Event is bringing his genius back into focus! Join us as we celebrate his legacy with an in-depth exploration of his music and impact. Don't miss this chance to experience Boulez like never before! 🎼✨
